This is no ordinary motor yacht but a vessel with a rich history and full of character! This Hamburger Barkas, built in 1926 in a series of only five units, was originally used for transportation on the Alster in Germany to carry passengers. After her commercial career, she came into private hands in 1968, where she was transformed into a recreational vessel with respect for her origins. In 2026, this lady will reach an exceptional milestone: 100 years of history. A century of seamanship, craftsmanship, and love for the water. The Barkas is constructed with the solidity of yesteryear: a riveted steel hull, classic lines, and a robust Jastram air-started engine, installed in the 1950s, which further emphasizes the authentic character of this ship. Despite her classic propulsion system and appearance, this Barkas is equipped with modern amenities. She features a bow thruster, central heating, an electric toilet, shower facilities, a generator with a separate 100-liter diesel tank (in addition to the 360-liter main tank), and more. The wheelhouse, with a midship steering position and companion seat, offers excellent all-around visibility and is accessible through both side entrances. From the wheelhouse, there is access to the forward cabin, arranged as a sleeping area with bunk beds, as well as to the rest of the interior. The interior is simply yet warmly decorated with teak paneling. Here, you will find the bathroom (with electric toilet and shower), a master cabin with a double bed and closet space, and a spacious salon/galley. The salon/galley benefits from ample natural light thanks to the large windows and is equipped with a kitchen, loose furniture, and ample storage space. The salon seamlessly connects to the open cockpit, which invites you to relax and enjoy the view and outdoor life. This Hamburger Barkas combines the charm of the past with the comfort of today, a rare classic that rightfully deserves to be called living heritage on the water. Enthusiasts of classic shipbuilding and authentic sailing will immediately appreciate this Barkas.
