Description
The Vertue 25 was designed by one of the most renowned English yacht designers, Laurent Giles. Over 200 of these long-distance cruising yachts have been built worldwide. The voyages of some of these highly seaworthy yachts are legendary (Barton with Vertue No.35). According to the Laurent Giles Archive, this boat is the first to have an aluminum hull. The construction contract from 1995 is available. Due to the early death of the client, the boat was only in the water in the summer of 1996. The boat rested in a hall for almost 20 years, and the sails were stored, some unused, in the forepeak. When we took over in 2016, the hour meter showed 9 hours. The engine has now run for 150 hours. A genoa and storm jib are still unused. In addition to the 2021-installed roller furling system (Furlex 104S), the Vertue has a cutter stay with corresponding sails. The mainsail has 3 reefs. A teak deck refurbishment was carried out in 2019 using WKT synthetic rubber. A complete cleaning of the diesel tank was done in 2022. The boat is currently in winter storage in a hall.
