The BRØKER 30 is a distinctive 30-foot performance cruiser, combining elegant Scandinavian design, traditional wooden craftsmanship and clever engineering. Her most remarkable feature is the hydraulically operated lifting keel, allowing her to explore shallow waters and secluded anchorages that are inaccessible to many conventional cruising yachts. Main specifications Designer and constructor: Povl Brøker Year built: 1986 Length: 9.0 metres Beam: 3.0 metres Draft: 1.67 m (keel down) / 0.68 m (keel up) Displacement: 2.8 tonnes Keel weight: 1.35 tonnes Sail area: 46 m² Condition: Very well maintained Exceptional cold-moulded wooden construction The hull is constructed using the cold-moulded method, with three layers of 3.3 mm Canadian cedar and one layer of African mahogany, giving a total thickness of 12.7 mm. The keel and stem are made of ash. The deck consists of two layers of cedar, Oregon pine veneer and teak. The mahogany cabin roof and beautifully finished teak cockpit complement the elegant mahogany and mahogany-veneer interior. All structural bonding was carried out using aviation-grade SP epoxy adhesive, corresponding to the American WEST System. Hydraulic lifting keel A particularly impressive engineering feature is the hydraulically operated lifting keel. 1.35-tonne keel Heavy-duty pivot bearing 80 mm stainless-steel transverse shaft Hydraulic operation by hand-operated pump The keel provides a draft of just 0.68 metres when raised, making the BRØKER 30 exceptionally versatile for coastal cruising and exploring shallow waters. Engine – renewed in 2025 The engine was replaced in 2025 with a three-cylinder Vetus M3.29 diesel engine. The associated engine installation and equipment were also renewed. The propeller was replaced in 2025 as well. This represents a significant investment in the yacht's mechanical condition.
