The De Vries Lentsch 950 – Classic steel cruiser with modern engine General overview of the De Vries Lentsch 950 The De Vries Lentsch 950 is a steel motorboat from 1975, designed and built by the renowned Dutch shipyard De Vries Lentsch. This shipyard is known for its craftsmanship and classic lines, which are clearly reflected in this model. With a length of 9.50 meters and a width of 3.00 meters, this cruiser offers stable and comfortable navigation on inland waters such as lakes, ponds, and rivers. The air draft of 2.50 meters allows passage under most bridges, making the boat suitable for a wide range of cruising areas. The De Vries Lentsch 950 is now in the online auction. Everyone can bid until February 16, 2026. Construction and layout The hull is entirely made of steel, contributing to the ship's robustness. The draft is 70 cm, making the boat suitable for shallower waters. Inside, there is a headroom of 1.90 meters, providing a comfortable living space. The boat features an indoor steering with a steering wheel and a single rudder, which, combined with the electric bow thruster, ensures a high level of maneuverability. The boat is capable of almost turning on its axis, facilitating maneuvering in harbors and narrow waterways. Interior and accommodation The interior space is functionally furnished with a dining area, stove, refrigerator, and mattresses. There are two fixed berths and four additional berths available, making the boat suitable for overnight stays with multiple people. The sanitary facilities consist of a manual toilet with direct discharge to open water. Propulsion and technical equipment In 2022, the boat was equipped with a new Mitsubishi Craftsman inboard diesel engine with a power of 40 hp. This four-cylinder engine currently has 175 operating hours and is electrically started. At the same time, the propeller, fuel tank, water tank, batteries, and bow thruster were also renewed. The fuel tank has a capacity of 60 liters, as well as the water tank. The cruising speed is around 8 km/h, with a maximum speed of 12.5 km/h. The engine is installed in a soundproof enclosure, contributing to a quieter navigation experience. The electrical system consists of two batteries, a battery charger, alternator, inverter, voltmeter, and shore power connection. The system operates on 12V. Onboard instruments include a fuel tank gauge, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, and tachometer. Exterior equipment and deck gear The outdoor space is equipped with a sprayhood, cockpit tent (renewed in 2023), deck covers, outdoor deck chairs, fenders, lines, and a swim ladder. The spacious cockpit offers ample seating and is suitable for social moments on board. The boat has one anchor with line, but no anchor windlass is present. Maintenance and condition The boat was last antifouled in 2023. There is damage to the woodwork of the roof due to a leak. The boat is not registered. Use and sailing experience The De Vries Lentsch 950 has been used for day trips and weekend stays on inland waters. The owner describes the boat as a maneuverable cruiser with a spacious cockpit and a classic look that often receives positive feedback from other water sports enthusiasts. The boat is designed for relaxing cruises and offers sufficient comfort for short stays on board. History and special features The boat is yard-built and has undergone various updates over the years, including a complete engine replacement and technical upgrades in 2022. In 2023, the hull was repainted, and the aft tent was renewed. The combination of classic lines and modern technology makes this cruiser a distinctive vessel with its own identity.
