Description

This Ketch is a beautiful sailing vessel with a classic line. She is equipped with all modern conveniences. This 'Lady' has been owned by the current owner for 40 years. He has had many adventures at sea and in other countries. Because of the draft many places are accessible. She sails fantastic, stable and has a large sail area. In good wind 8 knots can be reached. This Ketch does need some attention and there are many defects. For example, around the cabin there is a lot of rust. The engine was started on December 11. Attached you will find a video of this.

History:In 17th-century New England, the ketch (or "catch") was a small two-masted vessel with a square stern. Ketches had a small crew of about four men, and it is believed they had fore-and-aft rigging, rather than square sails, for ease and simplicity of operation. They were used primarily for local coastal trade and for fishing on the shallow sandbanks off the New England coast.
