Description

A beautiful Maxi 108 year 1980 for sale. The Maxi 108 is the big brother of the much-sold Maxi 95 and differs from it by being significantly more spacious and has, among other things, access from the main cabin to the aft cabin below deck and offers 7 large berths. The boat has a large, spacious central cockpit with wheel steering, and it is very stable and safe in rough weather. From the factory, this boat has been upgraded in its time with teak moldings on the inside hull sides as well as lockers at all berths instead of the standard back cushions with open shelf. An extra keel bolt has been fitted at the shipyard at the front of the keel, to solve the only weak point in the otherwise extremely robust construction. The engine is a fresh water cooled 4-cylinder Volvo Penta MD21B diesel engine with S drive. According to specifications, the output is 61 hp, but it is throttled to 2800 rpm and about 45 hp, which gives excellent performance at harbor maneuvers and offshore sailing in rough weather compared to the 23 hp standard engine. Membrane, screw, zinc, etc. was replaced in 2016. The engine starts and runs perfectly and uses neither oil nor water. The battery installation has been renovated with a new Victron combiner relay for an 80 Ah starter battery and 3x80 Ah consumer batteries. Cables for shore power as well as a 25 A Waeco battery charger are included. There is a newer Facnor furling system with genoa from MP sails and an older mainsail, which however, is performing well due to being of the full batten type. The boat's greatest asset is the exterior makeover with professional spray painting of all fiberglass above the waterline, incl. decoration stripes. At the same time, new windows, skylights, mooring cleats, genoa tracks, tank fillings/vents, rub rail etc. have been fitted. Below deck, the battery compartment, engine compartment and storage compartment have been renovated with new fiberglass, wood, sound dampening, lighting etc. In relation to the makeover, teak cladding or similar needs to be installed on seating surfaces in the cockpit as well as hinges on the storage hatch. In addition, vinyl needs to be fitted at a few spots in the cabins.
