She is a Simonis Voogd Fast 42 built by Fast Yachts in South Africa to ECB/CE category A standards. The yacht has been with the same owner since new, 2002, and has mainly been used for long distance family cruising holidays from South Africa to Mozambique and long-distance racing in South Africa, Mozambique and Dublin (ISORAs). She also sailed a few short course races in Durban & Dublin Bay. African Challenge’s longest journey was from Durban to Dublin in 2010.
