Azimut Yachts is an Italian yacht manufacturer located in Viareggio, Italy. Established in 1969, their first major project involved a contract with the Amerglass shipyard, a pioneering Dutch yard specializing in fiberglass boats. The company quickly expanded its business to include the distribution of sailing yachts, motor cruisers, and eventually luxury motor yachts from various manufacturers like British Powles and Westerly. Currently, Azimut owns Benetti, another prestigious yacht builder. Atlantis was acquired before 2013, and Azimut continued producing yachts under the Atlantis brand for several years. By 2013, Azimut Atlantis models were being produced.
