Contest 31 HT-AC 'Red King' - Robust, seaworthy, and comfortable with a large cockpit and spacious cabin. Ready for family cruising and racing. This Contest has had three Dutch owners. A powerful vessel capable of taking on sailing challenges and offering versatility. The Red King has sailed with the family on the Randmeren, IJsselmeer, Wadden Sea, and in Zeeland. The two separate aft cabins provide ample sleeping space, with a total of 6 berths making it ideal for spending summer vacations with the family. The spacious cockpit with sprayhood and 360-degree swiveling Lagun Cockpit Table (foldable) makes outdoor living appealing. The mast has been slightly shortened to a clearance height of 12.50 meters, allowing easy passage under fixed bridges on the Randmeren and Zeelandbrug. To maintain optimal sailing performance, the mainsail has been extended. The original engine was replaced in 2007 with a reliable and efficient 3-cylinder Ventus M3.09 with 25 hp. This Contest is also well-suited for coastal and offshore sailing, having ventured over the North Sea to the German Wadden Sea, Denmark, and England (including London) in recent years. Over the past 20 years, this vessel has been used for racing in local competitions, Rondje Noordholland, Nacht van Spakenburg, and the Challenge Cup. Due to its sailing characteristics, this vessel is easily manageable for solo sailing. A true all-rounder, this boat is ready to sail. On the water, the Contest 31 is known for its pleasant, calm, and stable sailing behavior, even in windy and wavy conditions. A suitable vessel for both novice and experienced sailors. The interior is nautical and timeless, offering ample storage, a chart table, wet locker, enclosed (electric) toilet compartment, and an additional gimbaled gas oven for morning croissants. In 2025, the headsail (high aspect) was renewed and fitted with a white UV strip. The hull underwent osmosis treatment in 2017 and has remained free of osmosis blisters in recent years. VAT has been demonstrably paid.
