The Red Admiral 36 is a fast and seaworthy design by Holman and Pye. This model was developed in the late 1970s with a focus on serious offshore racing, including the famous Fastnet Race of 1979. In total, only 22 have been built. This vessel combines sporty sailing characteristics with comfort for longer journeys. The Admiral 36 feels at home at sea but is also well-suited for inland waters and the IJsselmeer. Thanks to its deep keel, stable underwater profile, and solid construction, it instills confidence even when the winds pick up. The current owner has had the boat since 1999 and has visibly maintained it well. In recent years, many upgrades have been made, including a complete refit of the mast and rigging (2017), modern Raymarine equipment, LED navigation lights, and various technical enhancements. The interior is well-appointed, warm, and practical with a fore cabin, aft cabin, and comfortable saloon. On deck, everything is in place for serious sailing: an extensive sail wardrobe, Lewmar winches, spinnaker gear, and a reliable Volvo Penta diesel engine. A remarkable vessel for someone seeking a true sailor with character, history, and proven seaworthiness.
