Sail around the world in 1st class! A classic boat of noble origin (designed by William Atkins in 1951), SKIRDA is absolutely PERFECT. Her level of maintenance, finish, interior design, systems and deck fittings is impeccable. The quality of her paintwork is the highest quality a classic boat enthusiast could wish for. The boat has been stored in a climate-controlled hall in Denmark for over a year, just waiting for a new, enthusiastic owner to launch her and take her out to sea for the concours d'elegance! The boat is fully protected both inside and out with the highest quality fiberglass reinforced epoxy resin. SKIRDA was designed by William A. Atkins and built in 1951 by the Arthur Miller shipyard in Boston. The build number 510717 is engraved on a beam inside. Information about its history dates back to 1990, when it was purchased in poor condition by a German sailor who brought it from the US to Bremerhaven, then had a trailer built and transported it to Poland for a complete restoration. Between 2004 and 2007, he built a huge barn in his garden near Barth, Germany, to carry out the final stages of the restoration. The work was carried out by Polish boatbuilders, the same people for 12 years, under the supervision of the owner, an expert in shipbuilding with a special focus on yacht construction. In January 2016, she came into the possession of her current owners and after sailing around Denmark, she reached Arnis, Germany, for the winter. In 2017, the engine was overhauled and the main cabin, galley and masts were restored at Mathiessen. Since then, the owners have sailed every summer from May to the end of September in the Baltic Sea, and every winter she has been stored in a slightly heated hall. In 2021, further work was carried out at the HCC shipyard in Marstal, Denmark. Both masts were repainted, the yard examined the wiring/keel connection, and minor damage was repaired. Since then, SKIRA has been protected in a hall at the shipyard.
