Nauticat 38 – Solid Long-Distance Cruiser and a Floating Holiday Home If you are looking for a boat for cruising around Denmark – or perhaps much further afield – a Nauticat 38 is an excellent choice. It is an exceptionally solid and seaworthy yacht, capable of handling all kinds of weather, while remaining wonderfully comfortable to live aboard. There is plenty of space for family and guests, with full standing headroom throughout, separate living and sleeping areas, two toilets, a shower and a layout designed for extended stays. And when you feel like a change of scenery, your “floating holiday home” can simply move on to a new sea view. This Nauticat has had very few owners and comes with an interesting history. Its first owner was shipowner Per Henriksen of Mercandia, and the boat was equipped with a larger engine than normally found in this model. The additional power provides reassurance on longer passages and when manoeuvring in demanding conditions. The boat subsequently spent many years as part of Svendborg Sailing School. The boat is ready for many more nautical miles. The sails are virtually new and, importantly, the engine underwent a complete overhaul just over two years ago. At the same time, cables, hoses, the exhaust system and hot-water tank were replaced. The rest of the boat is also in very good condition. The interior is fitted out in teak and mahogany, giving it a warm, classic maritime character. Combined with the generous headroom and numerous windows, this creates an exceptional feeling of space and comfort. The Pilothouse – the Heart of the Boat The pilothouse is one of the features that makes the Nauticat 38 such a comfortable boat. Here you can stay warm and dry in all kinds of weather while navigating, with family or guests relaxing in the sofa area. The large windows provide plenty of light and excellent views. The helm has the necessary instruments as well as an autopilot – a welcome extra pair of hands on longer passages. There is also a minibar, keeping cold drinks conveniently within reach. From the pilothouse, there is access to both the forward and aft sections. Saloon and Galley Forward of the pilothouse are the galley and saloon. The galley has a relatively new two-burner gas cooker, hot and cold running water and a refrigerator. Opposite is a comfortable U-shaped seating and dining area, which can also be converted into an extra-large double berth. Further forward is a toilet and the spacious forward cabin with good storage. The areas can be closed off, allowing the forward cabin and toilet to be separated from the saloon for privacy. All cushions throughout the boat are new, with new foam and durable Alcantara upholstery. Spacious Aft Cabin with Shower and Toilet The aft cabin offers an impressive amount of space and is ideal for extended stays. It features a very large bed which, if preferred, can be divided into two wide 1½-person berths. There is plenty of wardrobe and storage space, as well as a large separate toilet compartment with shower. A holding tank is in place and simply needs to be connected to the toilet. Plenty of Space on Deck The foredeck provides ample space for relaxing while allowing plenty of room to move around safely when mooring or handling the boat. High bulwarks and sturdy guardrails provide a reassuring sense of security. The aft deck is equally spacious and the boat can also be helmed from here. A wide bench provides comfortable seating for several people, making it a natural outdoor living area both while cruising and in harbour. Ready for New Adventures With this Nauticat 38, you get a solid and capable cruising yacht with plenty of space, equally suited to shorter trips and extended stays on board. The key technical installations have been updated, the engine completely overhauled and the sails are virtually new. Combined with the classic teak and mahogany interior, larger engine and robust construction, this is a Nauticat with plenty of character and comfort. A boat for those who want the freedom to sail far – while still enjoying the feeling of taking their home with them.
