Description

The Mulder & Rijke RIBsea 700 is a 7-meter long Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), built in 1999 by the renowned Dutch shipyard Mulder & Rijke. This robust boat was designed with seaworthiness, stability, and maneuverability in mind, originally used by the Dutch military. The hull is made of polyester and equipped with heavy-duty tubes surrounded by foam rubber for protection against cutting and puncture damage. Additionally, the hull is Lloyd's registered under number AMS 9902500. Dimensions and Navigational Features Measuring 7.00 meters in length, 2.60 meters in width, and with a draft of only 45 centimeters, the RIB is excellent for shallow waters like canals, ditches, and lakes, as well as rivers and coastal areas. Thanks to the jet propulsion, the boat is highly maneuverable, even at a standstill. With a clearance height of 2.40 meters, it can pass under low bridges, while the interior standing height of 2.10 meters offers ample comfort for taller users. Engine and Propulsion Powered by a robust Yanmar 4LHA-STP inboard diesel engine with turbo, delivering 240 hp, coupled with a Hamilton Jet, this setup ensures exceptional maneuverability, quick acceleration, and safe handling, even in shallow waters. The cruising speed is approximately 35 km/h, with a top speed of around 58 km/h. The engine is electrically started and linked to the chart plotters via the NMEA2000 network, providing integrated access to engine data and navigation information. Navigation and Electronics The RIB is equipped with an extensive navigation and electronics system, including two Garmin GPSMAP chart plotters with BlueChart g3 Benelux maps, an Icom AIS transponder and VHF radio, a depth sounder, compass, log and speedometer, as well as GPS position and tracking. Various engine and system gauges are present, such as a fuel gauge, oil pressure and temperature gauge, tachometer (requiring calibration), and meters for battery voltage and charging voltage. Lighting includes interior LED lights, four powerful exterior LED spotlights, an LED bar, and the audio system is enhanced by a radio with HERTZ subwoofer. Electrical System The electrical system features both 12V and 220V connections, powered by two batteries (for starting and consumption) with a total capacity of 180 Ah. A battery charger, alternator, and a 12V to 230V inverter ensure power supply. Additionally, two bilge pumps are present, one manual and one automatic. Comfort and Equipment For comfort and equipment, the boat includes a bimini top for sun protection. The self-draining cockpit enhances safety and maintenance ease. A braked road trailer from the brand Wick (built in 2008) is included with the boat. This double-axle trailer with four rollers and a trailer winch measures 600x250 cm. The road trailer does not have a license plate. Registration and Maintenance The RIB is registered as a fast motorboat with the RDW under number 4-YG-984. The hull drawings are available. In 2024, the boat was last treated with antifouling. Usage and History After its military service, the boat was converted for recreational use. Since then, it has been used for leisure boating, sports activities, and weekend trips. The jet propulsion offers clear advantages for water sports enthusiasts and makes the boat suitable for various boating conditions. The current owner indicates that the boat is rarely used, prompting the sale. The Mulder & Rijke RIBsea 700 is a sturdy, versatile, and well-equipped RIB. With its powerful diesel engine, jet propulsion, and extensive navigation equipment, this boat is ideal for both recreational and professional use. The combination of stability, speed, and maneuverability makes it particularly suitable for adventurous boaters and water sports enthusiasts seeking reliability and performance in one vessel.
