Description

SHIP IS UNDER OFFER Thanks to Sailing Today 2014: There is currently an abundance of new catamarans being built, the Catana 42 is one that stands out, especially due to its double daggerboards. Catamarans from the volume brands are intended for charter, but future bluewater cruisers crave space and the pace of a performance-oriented multihull like Nautitech. Catana's have two immediately noticeable differences from other production cruising cats - daggerboards with negative camber (tilting inwards at the top), hulls without keels. They also look good, thanks to the streamlined coach roof. A vessel that not only looks and feels luxurious but performs almost as well as a true racing multihull - even upwind! Its daggerboards add a bit of extra hassle when tacking but make a difference to its performance upwind, around 38º to 40º of the apparent wind instead of the more common 50º+.
