Description

This magnificent Grand Banks 42 EU combines high quality, safety, and performance with very comfortable accommodation for a smaller crew. The boat is like a miniature ship and offers a delightful mix of relaxed cruising and the ability for fast passages when needed - perfect for long trips or relaxing days at sea. Grand Banks' philosophy is robust and high-class construction, as well as reliable, well-known technology that is easy to service. All equipment is heavily dimensioned, from the buttons to the engines. The design of the Grand Banks 42 EU is reminiscent of the American lobster trawlers, which are recognized as very seaworthy boats. Unlike Grand Bank's Classic versions, this EU version has a very spacious salon, a master cabin in the bow, and a large, covered aft deck for all-weather stays. The spacious and bright salon offers wonderful views in all directions. There is a generous sofa with a large table and comfortable chairs for pleasant socializing. Further forward in the salon to port is the well-equipped galley, positioned to make cooking an enjoyable experience. On the other side is the helm station with all necessary electronics and technology conveniently accessible to the skipper or navigator. Through the starboard door, the skipper can easily access the deck during, for example, harbor maneuvers. In the bow is the luxurious master cabin with a large, wide berth, plenty of drawers and cabinets, and access to its own toilet with a separate shower room to starboard. A smaller cabin is located to port below the stairs. There is a narrower double berth and an upper berth that can be stowed away to save space if not needed. The boat's second toilet is located to starboard and also has access to the shower room. The interior is largely in matte lacquered, solid teak, which gives a classic feel without feeling outdated. The well-protected and large aft deck offers a wonderful place for relaxation and social moments. The sliding doors to the salon can be opened to create a seamless connection between the salon and the aft deck. Below the aft deck, there are enormous storage spaces and various technical equipment. The deck surfaces are well-planned with wide side decks and high railings for maximum safety even in rough conditions. The spacious flybridge is a fantastic place for the crew to enjoy when the weather allows and also provides the skipper with better visibility during harbor maneuvers. A wide and safe staircase leads up to the flybridge. The dinghy is also stored there and can be easily launched using the boom on the mast. Under the salon, you will find a well-insulated engine room. There are the powerful and long-lasting Caterpillar engines, as well as other technical equipment, all easily accessible for service. Grand Banks is known for using simple and proven mechanics for the engines, gearboxes, etc. to facilitate repairs and service and provide the highest possible reliability. At cruising speed, the consumption is only about 2 liters per nautical mile, which gives a range of over 1000 nautical miles without refueling. The Grand Banks 42 is surprisingly easy to maneuver in harbors thanks to its long keel, twin engines, and powerful bow thruster. The boat is in very good condition, well-maintained, and has been continuously updated over the years. It has no groundings or other notable damages.
