Aquanaut 760 from 1978 - Steel motorboat with practical layout and low air draft This Aquanaut 760 from 1978 is a steel motorboat with a length of 7.50 meters and a width of 2.70 meters. Thanks to its shallow draft of only 80 cm and an air draft of 2.30 meters, this vessel is particularly suitable for navigating shallow inland waters, lakes, and rivers. The boat features a V-bottom and a single rudder, contributing to stable handling and maneuverability, even at lower speeds. Layout and accommodation Inside, the Aquanaut 760 offers a headroom of 1.80 meters, providing ample freedom of movement. The boat has two fixed berths and one additional berth, making it suitable for short vacations or weekend trips with two to three people. The accommodation includes a fridge with an integrated freezer (12V), a stove, oven, mattresses, and a manual toilet. The toilet waste is directly connected to the open water. At the stern of the boat, there is an open cockpit with a cockpit tent that can be fully opened. This allows for sheltered seating or enjoying the outdoors. The cockpit is equipped with a cockpit table and noise-reducing cushions, enhancing onboard comfort. A swim platform at the rear facilitates easy access to and from the water. Engine and technology The boat is powered by a 34 hp Mercedes OM636 diesel engine. This four-cylinder engine is electrically started and consumes an average of 2 liters of diesel per hour. The cruising speed is around 9 km/h, with a maximum speed of approximately 12 km/h. The fuel tank has a capacity of 120 liters, sufficient for longer trips without the need for refueling. The engine is from the same year as the boat (1978) and reportedly in working condition according to the owner. The boat was last out of the water for maintenance in 2024 and received a new antifouling layer in the same year. Electrical installation and power supply The onboard electrical system consists of two batteries with a total capacity of 335 Ah. The batteries are separated to prevent draining each other. One battery is for lighting and other consumers, while the other is for starting the engine. The batteries are charged via a solar panel, alternator, and shore power. Additionally, the boat is equipped with a battery charger, inverter, and voltmeter. The electrical system operates on both 12V and 220V. Navigation and equipment In terms of navigation and instruments, the boat is equipped with a fuel tank gauge, oil pressure gauge, and temperature gauge. An anchor with line is available for anchoring. The boat also comes with fenders, lines, davits, and a dinghy. Dinghy and outboard motor The Aquanaut 760 comes with a dinghy suitable for two adults. This dinghy is equipped with a Yamaha 2.5 hp 4-stroke outboard motor, allowing for short trips or easy shore access. Usage and sailing experience The current owner has used the boat for leisure cruising, day trips, weekends away, and vacations. The boat has mainly been used on inland waters, lakes, and rivers. Thanks to its shallow draft, the vessel is suitable for shallow waters, such as those in Groningen. The 4-cylinder diesel engine provides enough power to comfortably navigate even against the current. A documentation folder with information from the previous owner, including photos of the structure and performed work, is available.
