Description

The Bege Fly 900 is a steel motorboat of Dutch origin, built in 1991 by the Bege shipyard, a family-owned business from Friesland. This particular model is one of only two examples built by the shipyard, giving the vessel a unique character. Measuring 9.00 meters in length, 2.45 meters in width, and with a draft of 0.50 meters, this boat is suitable for various inland waters, lakes, ponds, and rivers. With a clearance height of approximately 2.50 meters, it can pass under most bridges, significantly expanding its navigational possibilities. Layout and Accommodation Inside, the Bege Fly 900 offers a headroom of 1.85 meters, providing a comfortable living space. The boat features two fixed berths and one additional berth, spread across three bunks. The accommodation includes a dining area, refrigerator, freezer, stove, and mattresses. There is a manual toilet on board, with direct discharge into open water. Heating is provided by a stove. The woodwork shows some condensation damage in places, and the cushions are due for replacement or reupholstering. Engine and Technical Equipment In 2023, the boat was equipped with a new Craftsman Marine diesel engine with a power of 42 hp (31 kW), four cylinders, and electric start. The engine currently has approximately 275 running hours. Propulsion is through the inboard motor with shaft. The fuel tank has a capacity of 80 liters, as does the water tank. The cruising speed is around 8 km/h, with a maximum speed of approximately 14 km/h. The electrical system was completely renewed in 2022, including a new battery pack (both start and service), a Victron inverter, battery charger, alternator, voltmeter, and shore power connection. The onboard voltage is 12V and 220V. There are three batteries. Navigation equipment includes AIS, GPS, chart plotter, and a log/speedometer. Steering and Handling The boat is equipped with dual steering: there is a steering wheel both inside and on the flybridge. The flybridge offers an elevated view and features a recent cockpit tent and cover, both made in 2024. The boat has an electric Vetus bow thruster, facilitating maneuvering, especially in harbors and when docking. The rudder is single-bladed, and the rudder post and blade have been recently replaced. The hull is stable, and the side decks are spacious, enhancing safety and comfort on deck. Exterior Equipment On deck, the boat is equipped with a sprayhood, deck covers, cockpit tent, fenders, lines, guardrails, swim platform, and swim ladder. Some of the exterior equipment was partially renewed in 2024. A dinghy is not included. There is one anchor for anchoring, without a winch or specific attachment. Maintenance and Condition The boat was taken out of the water for maintenance in 2024, including an antifouling treatment. In 2023 and 2024, the underwater hull received a new paint system. Parts of the cabin and flybridge superstructure have been repainted. Finishing touches on the paintwork, including filling and varnishing, still need to be done. Known areas needing attention include replacing window rubbers, repairing condensation damage to the woodwork, and reupholstering the cushions. The Trumatic gas heater is operational but currently not connected. The gas connection is in order. History and Usage The current owner purchased the boat in 2018. Since then, various technical and cosmetic improvements have been made. The boat has been used for leisure cruising, vacations, and weekend trips, mainly on inland waters. The owner appreciates the stability, spacious side decks, and flybridge as pleasant features while sailing. Summary The Bege Fly 900 is a steel motorboat with a flybridge, suitable for inland waters and recreational use. The boat features a recent diesel engine, updated electrical system, and various modern navigation aids. With a unique construction history and practical layout, this vessel provides a solid foundation for further personalization and use. Documentation, including maintenance records and engine data, is available for interested parties. The boat is unregistered, and VAT has been paid. A trailer is not included. All onboard equipment is included, along with a comprehensive briefing upon transfer.
