The Barkas Buchliner 8.50 is a robustly built steel motor yacht, designed by engineer L.M. Huitema. A unique vessel with surprisingly ample space and, above all, a very large cruising area. Thanks to its shallow draft of just 62 cm and a clearance height of approximately 1.68 meters, many smaller waterways and low bridges are also accessible. The spacious open cockpit is close to the water and connects with just one step to the almost level cabin. Inside, the beautiful teak interior immediately stands out. The salon features nearly 2 meters of headroom and includes a cozy seating area, galley, and internal steering station. At the front, there is a separate cabin with two fixed sleeping places, a toilet room, and a wardrobe. The dinette can be used as a third sleeping place. The Barkas is equipped with both internal and external steering. The Vetus 42 hp four-cylinder diesel engine has approximately 1,891 running hours. Thanks to the bow thruster and stern thruster, the vessel is particularly easy to maneuver. In terms of equipment, the yacht is complete. The upholstery was renewed in 2019, and in 2025 two new 120 Ah batteries were installed. Additionally, it features heating, a 50-liter boiler, refrigerator, solar panels, and shore power. A charming and practical Barkas for those who want to cruise comfortably, seek plenty of interior space, and at the same time desire a manageable vessel that allows access to virtually all of the Netherlands.
