Description

Beautiful wooden salon boat, heritage, history, meticulously restored with great respect, and above all, a fantastic boat to sail on. In 1940, a luxurious wooden salon boat was built in Brundall (UK) at the renowned and one of the oldest British shipyards, Brooms Boats. Before it could have its first owner, the ship was requisitioned by the British army to potentially be used during 'Operation Dynamo' and the evacuation of British soldiers as one of the 'Little Dunkirk Ships' as we know them today from the movie 'Dunkirk'. In 1946, after returning to the shipyard, the yacht got its first private British owner. By the late 1970s, it moved to the Netherlands and underwent its first major restoration in 1995. When the yacht acquired a Belgian owner in 2003, it was christened 'Broomside', its current name. In 2017, it was included in the 'inventory of immovable heritage' in Flanders. The yacht is lovingly maintained and underwent a thorough refit with respect for the original design and construction method. The Broomside has an impressive history. It is a fascinating yacht that attracts attention on the water or in ports. You can't help but notice it. The yacht boasts elegant lines, robustness, and a touch of romance. It features a sleek design with a pointed bow that elegantly fans out towards the stern. The interior exudes history. Central is the wheelhouse with a door on each side and the engine hatch below. At the rear, there is a seating area with a table, two chairs, and a long bench that serves as a sofa or extra bed. The narrow double door leads to the galley all the way aft. It is a beautiful space with a simple design. Up front, the yacht has a similar layout with the same narrow wooden doors. The cabin has a bed on each side with storage underneath, and in the bow, there is a toilet with a hand basin. With this classic wooden salon boat, you can enjoy delightful voyages. It is an eye-catcher, a yacht to cherish, and to savor every detail. Broomside is looking for a new owner to pen its next chapter. Do you feel the passion?
