1986 Folkertkruiser Cabin Boat - Steel motorboat with practical layout and diesel engine This 1986 Folkertkruiser cabin boat offers a functional and well-organized layout for enthusiasts of pleasure boating on inland waters. With a length of 8 meters and a width of 2 meters, the vessel is suitable for various sailing areas such as canals, lakes, ponds, and rivers. The steel hull and superstructure provide a sturdy foundation, while the clearance height of approximately 3 meters allows for passing under many bridges. Layout and living space Inside the cabin, there is a headroom of 2 meters, providing ample freedom of movement. The boat features a dining area, a cooking facility with two gas burners (operating on gas canisters), and a manual toilet. There are two fixed sleeping berths, with the option for a third additional berth. Mattresses are included, along with a complete inventory consisting of pans, dishes, and cutlery. This makes the boat immediately usable for short stays or day trips. The open cockpit is equipped with a removable canopy and offers seating with two separate chairs and a table. This space is suitable for relaxation while sailing or when moored. The boat is equipped with a swim ladder, facilitating boarding and disembarking from the water. Engine and technology The Folkertkruiser is equipped with an inboard Peugeot diesel engine with a power of 50 hp, distributed over four cylinders. The engine starts electrically and is operational. The cruising speed is around 12 km/h, with a maximum speed of approximately 14 km/h. The fuel tank has a capacity of 80 liters, sufficient for longer trips without the need for refueling. The boat has two batteries with a total capacity of 120 Ah. These are charged via an alternator and battery charger. The electrical system operates on 12V and includes gauges such as a fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, and tachometer. Navigation is supported by a depth sounder. Equipment and extras On deck, two anchors are present, secured with lines. The boat does not have an anchor winch or bow thruster. For safety, there is an electric bilge pump. The exterior is equipped with fenders and lines. A dinghy or trailer is not included. The boat is not registered, but VAT has been paid. The last antifouling treatment took place in 2023. According to the owner, the boat is scheduled to be hauled out of the water for maintenance in 2025. There are some points to note, such as touching up the paintwork. Use and sailing experience The current owner has used the boat for day trips and recreational sailing. The boat is suitable for leisurely cruises on inland waters and provides sufficient comfort for short stays on board. The combination of a diesel engine, practical layout, and available equipment makes this cabin boat suitable for a variety of sailing conditions.
