The hull is made of corten steel, a material known for its strength and corrosion resistance. The hull shape is a hard chine, contributing to the stability and sailing characteristics of the ship. The draft is 1 meter and the air draft is 6 meters, making the ship suitable for various navigational areas, including rivers, lakes, ponds, and coastal waters. The ship is registered with both the Cadastre and the RDW under number 27649BR2006. VAT has been paid. The current owner has owned the ship since 2006 and used it for various purposes such as recreational boating, commercial transport, holidays, and as a permanent residence. Patrol Boat 2300 now in the online auction. Everyone can bid until December 15, 2025. History and transformation From 1986 to 2003, this ship served as a patrol vessel for the State Police and later the KLPD, stationed in Delfzijl. In 2003, it was sold via Domains to a private individual. In 2007, the ship was extensively renovated into a floating houseboat, designed by naval architect Willem Nieland. The renovation was carried out by experienced yacht builders and ship carpenters. The ship was equipped with a luxurious interior and modern amenities, offering a living space of approximately 60 m². Interior and living comfort The interior is designed with comfort and functionality in mind. Above deck, there is a spacious salon with panoramic views and a steering position at the front. Access to the ship is through the aft deck. Thanks to the large windows, there is plenty of natural light. Below deck, there is a fully equipped kitchen by Poggenpohl, featuring modern appliances such as a Siemens induction hob with extractor hood, a Miele combi-oven, a convection oven, and a freezer. The air conditioning is by Pearl and operates with a water-cooled condenser. The central heating is provided by a Kabola 25 kW diesel central heating system. The accommodation offers four fixed berths, with an owner's cabin in the bow and a guest cabin on the port side. There are two electric toilets with macerator (Sani Broyeur) and a separate bathroom with a shower. The headroom inside is 2 meters. Technology and propulsion The propulsion is powered by two MTU 12V183 diesel engines, each 400 hp, built in 1992. These engines drive the Schottel rudder propellers via a driveshaft, providing a high degree of maneuverability. The cruising speed is around 10 knots, with a maximum speed of 13 knots. The fuel consumption is approximately 10 liters per hour at 5 knots. The fuel tank has a capacity of 4,400 liters, giving the ship a range of about 1,000 nautical miles. The electrical system includes a battery charger, alternator, inverter, shore power connection, and solar panels. There are six batteries on board, including three 240 Ah service batteries (replaced in January 2024) and 180 Ah starting batteries (replaced in 2019). The onboard voltage is 220V. A Silent DG11000 generator with a capacity of 10 kVA provides additional power supply. Navigation and safety The navigation equipment includes a depth sounder, GPS, compass, log/speedometer, radar, and two Sailor C402 VHF radios with ATIS and MMSI. There is a blue sign for river navigation. The turn indicator is currently not functioning. In terms of safety, the ship is equipped with three watertight bulkheads, an intercom system (Amplidan/Commander 1500), a MOB function on the GPS, five fire extinguishers (foam, powder, and CO2), and an electric bilge pump. A radar reflector is also present. Exterior and additional equipment The outdoor equipment includes an electric anchor winch with chain, a crane/hoist, fenders and lines, a swim ladder, and a sturdy guardrail. There is a RIB Adventure dinghy with an 8 hp Selva outboard motor. Behind the engine room is a separate workshop with spare parts and maintenance items. The engine room is accessible through a hatch in the stern. Maintenance and certification The last antifouling treatment and replacement of anodes took place in November 2023. The hull thickness measurement in November 2023 shows a skin thickness of 5 mm and a bottom thickness of 6 mm, in line with new construction specifications. The ship has a valid Certificate of Survey until December 2030. Summary This former patrol boat has been converted into a fully functional floating houseboat with a spacious and bright living environment, modern amenities, and powerful propulsion. Thanks to the Schottel rudder propellers, the ship is highly maneuverable, even without a bow thruster. The combination of sturdy construction, extensive technical equipment, and comfortable living space makes this ship suitable for long stays on board and various navigational areas.
