Rio 830 Cabin - Polyester motor yacht with spacious layout and twin engines The Rio 830 Cabin is an Italian-made motor yacht, built in 1989. This model is known for its functional layout, sturdy polyester construction, and twin engines, making the boat suitable for both day trips and longer stays on the water. With a length of 9 meters and a width of 3.15 meters, this boat offers ample space for a comfortable stay on board. Dimensions and construction The hull of the Rio 830 Cabin is made of polyester and features a V-bottom, enhancing its performance at higher speeds and in rough waters. The draft is 80 cm, making the boat suitable for various waters, including coastal waters and shallow inland waterways. The air draft is 220 cm, allowing the boat to pass under many bridges on inland waterways. The headroom inside is 190 cm, providing a comfortable living space in the interior. Layout and accommodation The boat has two separate sleeping cabins, a rarity in this size class. There are a total of four fixed berths. The interior space includes a dining area, a stove, a refrigerator, and hot water. The wet room is equipped with an electric toilet and an integrated shower. The toilet waste is discharged directly into the open water. Engines and performance The Rio 830 Cabin is powered by two Volvo Penta AQAD40B diesel engines, each with 175 hp. Both engines are electrically started and have approximately 1400 operating hours. The engines are from the year 1989, just like the boat itself. The cruising speed is around 30 km/h, with a top speed of about 45 km/h. The fuel tank has a capacity of 500 liters, providing a generous range. The boat is equipped with various gauges, including a fuel tank gauge, oil pressure gauge, and temperature gauge. Electrical installation and power supply Onboard are four batteries with a total capacity of 400 Ah. The electrical system includes a battery charger, alternator, inverter, voltmeter, and a solar panel, contributing to the power supply during longer stays on board without shore power. Navigation and equipment For navigation, a depth sounder is available. The boat is equipped with an electric bilge pump and has an anchor with chain. Outside, the boat features a sprayhood, exterior deck cushions, covers, a crane/hoist, and a teak deck, providing a comfortable outdoor space. A bow thruster is not present. Maintenance and condition The boat was last taken out of the water for maintenance in 2025, including the application of antifouling. There are no signs of osmosis. A known issue is that the right trim function does not work. The boat is not registered. Use and sailing area The current owner has used the boat for day trips, weekend stays, and holidays. The boat has mainly been used at sea, in line with the construction and propulsion of the vessel.
