Historic and culturally significant wooden vessel approved for sailing with 12 passengers. Can be purchased for commercial sailing, but also easily converted into a recreational vessel or a sailing houseboat. This beautiful, classic wooden ship has been continuously updated and maintained over the years to a standard far above what is typically seen for ships of this type and vintage. The ship is exceptionally well-maintained and is approved for commercial sailing as well as fully suitable as a comfortable houseboat. Here you get a vessel that is ready for use - whether the dream is active sailing, permanent residence, or the perfect combination of both. The ship with the registration letters 5QTZ was built in 1962 at the Brødrene Nippers Shipyard in Skagen. Originally named Gardner, it was commissioned by Ole Sommer, a Danish dealer of Volvo and Gardner engines. The ship was used as a recreational vessel for weekend cruises and summer trips, particularly to Sweden. At the same time, it served as a showcase vessel for the qualities of the Gardner engine. The original Gardner engine (6LX, power 81 kW and 110 hp at 1300 rpm) and fuel pump, dispatched from the manufacturer's headquarters on March 29, 1962, are still preserved on board, along with the original instruction manuals, etc. This early phase of the ship's life is confirmed by Ole Sommer's son. Between 1977 and 1984, ownership was unclear. Several accounts suggest it was owned by a couple, where the husband passed away, and the wife later went bankrupt. None of this information has been confirmed, and the ship's use during this period is assumed to have been as a pleasure craft. In 1984, the ship was taken over and renamed Amigo, used for fishing around Grenå. It was converted from a pleasure craft to a passenger and cargo vessel, and for the next 17 years, it sailed with fishermen. A significant change was the replacement of the mast, which prevented large amounts of water from entering, a previous issue. This period in the ship's history is documented by Lars Engelbrechtsen, a close acquaintance and owner of the neighboring ship M/S Signe. In 2001, the ship was purchased and continued its use for fishing, now based in Gedser. Here, the ship was also used for tourist cruises and transporting workers to nearby wind turbines. From 2014 to 2022, the ship was used for fishing trips from Langø and Spodsbjerg. Modern Garmin fishing equipment was installed, but otherwise, the ship's original character was preserved. In 2022, the current owner acquired the ship through Varra ApS and renamed it Ripa Bornholm. In a time when many former fishing boats are being scrapped, the current owner has chosen to preserve and repurpose the ship as part of a sustainable and cultural initiative. The ship now functions as a floating hotel with the option for overnight stays and passenger sailing along the coast of Bornholm. Guests can rent the ship for both permanent stays and active sailing trips with a skipper. The project is part of a new business model based on upcycling and preserving Danish maritime heritage. Upon confirmed sale, the seller is also willing to share intangible assets related to the newly developed business model, which has been highly sought after in the last 4 seasons: know-how, best practices for rental operations, sales strategies, networks, images, and similar. The ship's mast has a slight bend just above the mast collar, as shown in some of the pictures. Contact Yachtbasen for further information or to schedule a viewing.
