A unique opportunity for maritime heritage enthusiasts to acquire the authentic and historic beach lifeboat Jhr. H.J. Ortt, built in 1934 by Gebroeders Taat in NL-Katwijk. She belongs to the renowned Eierland class of the Noord- en Zuid-Hollandsche Redding-Maatschappij (NZHRM), predecessor of today’s KNRM. Designed for demanding rescue operations from the Dutch beaches. She was built to a Danish naval design using durable Java teak with oak frames. During her active career she was stationed at IJmuiden, Ameland, Texel and Terschelling (the Netherlands). Her first recorded rescue took place in 1935 near Wijk aan Zee, and she remained in service until 1990. Over the years several upgrades were carried out, including the installation of an aluminium engine cover. Her current appearance and colour scheme correspond to her condition when withdrawn from service in 1990. The vessel has undergone extensive maintenance and is in excellent condition, as confirmed by an independent HISWA surveyor. She is ideally suited for nautical events, maritime heritage gatherings, or recreational use by an owner who values authenticity, craftsmanship and history.
