Description

This round-bilge Clipper bow cruiser is a characteristic steel motor yacht with a length of 16 meters and a width of 3 meters. The boat is built on a traditional round-bilge hull and features a Clipper bow, contributing to its classic appearance and sailing characteristics. The draft is 1.25 meters and the air draft is 2.70 meters, making the vessel suitable for a wide range of inland waters, lakes, ponds, and rivers. The headroom inside is 1.85 meters. Construction and layout The hull is entirely made of steel, ensuring a robust construction. The boat has dual steering: the vessel can be steered from both inside and the flybridge using a steering wheel. The steering is connected to a single rudder. The flybridge offers an elevated view and is ideal for cruising in good weather. The gauges on the flybridge are not yet connected, but the wiring is already in place. The boat is divided into seven compartments, including a work cabin with anchor locker, sink, workbench, and chemical toilet, a four-person bunk cabin with closet space, a helm above the engine room with a bench seat, a salon with audio/video system and glass cabinet, a galley with stove, oven, microwave, and water heater, a toilet/shower room, and an aft cabin with additional closet space. In total, there are six fixed berths and one extra berth available. Engine and technology The boat is powered by a DAF 575 diesel engine with a power of 105 hp, distributed over six cylinders. The engine is electrically started and runs on diesel fuel. The consumption is around 5 liters per hour. The cruising speed is approximately 10 km/h, with a maximum speed of about 15 km/h. The fuel tank has a capacity of 240 liters. The electrical system consists of a 24/230 volt system including a battery charger, alternator, inverter, shore power connection, voltmeter, wind generator, and solar panels. There are eight batteries on board with a total capacity of 600 Ah. Navigation equipment includes an Asus laptop with OpenCPN, depth sounder, GPS, chart plotter, compass, log/speedometer, VHF radio, and wind meter. Two solar panels charge the batteries. Comfort and amenities Various amenities are available on board for a comfortable stay, including an electric toilet system (with direct discharge to open water), a shower, hot water, hot air heating, refrigerator, stove, oven, and microwave. The water tank has a capacity of 600 liters. The boat is equipped with a self-draining cockpit, swim platform, swim ladder, covers, fenders, lines, a crane/hoist, and a guardrail. Additional equipment and dinghy The boat comes with a 3-meter long Pioneer 10 dinghy, suitable for rowing and use with an outboard motor. The dinghy is equipped with a 3 hp Evinrude 2-stroke outboard motor with two cylinders. Also included are a folding bike, two oars, and two gangways. The dinghy provides seating for four people. Safety and documentation The boat is equipped with five fire extinguishers, three anchors (with chain and line), lines, good navigation lights, a spare handheld VHF radio, two electric bilge pumps, and a hand pump. The anchor windlass is manually operated. Documentation such as a logbook, folders with receipts, manuals, and haul-out records are available. History and usage This vessel has a unique history. Originally, it was a pre-war river patrol vessel, later converted into a yacht by Nicolaas Witsen. The current owner has owned the boat for 47 years, using it for pleasure cruising, holidays, and day trips. The boat has been used on inland waters, lakes, rivers, and even at sea. A memorable journey was a solo trip in 2010 via Paris, Chalon-sur-Saône, Basel, and the Rhine back home. Special features Thanks to the strategic placement of the midship bollards, the boat is easy to handle solo, making it very suitable for the more independent water sports enthusiast. The boat attracts a lot of attention due to its nostalgic appearance and timeless charm. Additionally, the vessel is suitable for extended stays on board, making it perfect for multi-day trips or even longer stays on the water. The last maintenance, including antifouling treatment, was carried out in 2022. Although the boat is in good condition, there are some known points of attention, such as occasional leakage in the wooden wheelhouse superstructure and moderate paintwork on some parts.
