The Antares 9 is a bright and spacious cruiser with panoramic views from the cabin. It features two cabins with double berths and a bathroom with sink and shower. A large sliding door to the cockpit and a side sliding door at the helm provide excellent access. The forward-facing double seat in the cabin can be reversed so that all 5 seats face forward while underway, and the cabin table can be converted into an additional sleeping berth. Closets and storage compartments offer plenty of space for luggage and gear. Since the boat is powered by an outboard engine, there is a large storage compartment beneath the cockpit. The cockpit features a movable sofa and table for 4 and is covered by a custom-made canopy from Danish manufacturer MKS. The canopy is suspended from the roof and can be used without side panels as a bimini (as seen on the new Antares 9 OB V2). It can be adjusted in multiple sections to allow as much opening or covering as weather conditions permit. It is robust, with sloping sides, able to withstand high winds, and can be used during planing speeds. The powerful 350 hp Suzuki engine with dual propellers offers several advantages: better fuel economy compared to twin engines—especially at lower speeds—and only one engine to service. The engine is very quiet and low-vibration at slow speeds, which, in combination with autopilot, provides great comfort on long passages. Cruising at planing speed is most efficient at 22–24 knots, with a top speed of around 30 knots. The boat is equipped with Garmin’s most powerful hydraulic autopilot, which steers accurately in waves at both low and high speeds, and can be integrated with GPS routes. This enables relaxed, quiet cruising with low fuel consumption. A custom trailer suitable for winter storage and short-distance transport can be included in the deal.
