Description

Arne Borghegn 44 ketch The boat is built of steel and is thus rigid and solid. It breaks through the waves and there is nothing that gives way, moves in the rigging or the hull. Yes, there is more work in a steel boat, but it is not like a car. One hour of maintenance and 23 hours of sailing can do a lot in the long run. When you keep an eye out and get it done, it also lasts for many years. The boat is a circumnavigation ship designed by the well-known Danish ship designer, Arne Borghegn, to be able to complete long-distance voyages both south and north of the Arctic Circle. Borghegn was Denmark's most productive ship designer and his designs include known for their sailing characteristics and high quality. The boat feels safe to sail in because there is a central cockpit with a large spray hood, where you can sit safely sheltered from wind and weather. The ship is fully insulated and has central heating with a reflex oven in the salon and radiators in all cabins. About shelter there are three cabins, a spacious salon with adjoining pantry (kitchen), card table, workshop and two toilets. As described, Arne Borghegn is known for designing well-sailing boats, this can also be felt on board, because even though it is large and heavy, it moves on its own in a light wind. It is cutter rigged, which means that there are two headsails, both with Furlex furling staysails.
