Description

JUST REDUCED Bruce Roberts Mauritius 43 steel ketch. This beautiful sailboat was built in Aalborg in 96/97 following Bruce Roberts' renowned design. It was named ORBIT as it was built with the intention of circumnavigating the globe. Already during its first long-distance voyage, it demonstrated its seaworthiness in a storm in the English Channel. The boat underwent a thorough renovation in the spring of 2022 and now benefits from a newly renovated 110 HP inboard BMC diesel engine and a new PRM gearbox. In addition to ensuring a stable sail on long distances, this steel ketch also offers a large and very well-utilized interior space, and with a foam-insulated hull, thermopane windows, and a centrally located oil heater, it is suitable as both a holiday and houseboat. This Bruce Roberts Mauritius 43 offers spacious accommodation with 7 berths divided into 3 cabins. The forward cabin contains 2 separate bunks and has good closet and storage space, the central portside cabin contains a double bed, wardrobe, and additional storage space, while the captain's cabin aft contains a double bed, wardrobe, and plenty of storage space. All mattresses and cushions are brand new, and the interior woodwork is well-maintained and of good quality. There are two toilets with hand basin and marine toilet, the aft one with a shower. Both with good storage space in cabinets. An electric water heater is located in the forward part of the engine room. A centrally located chart table contains the electrical panel along with the VHF radio, GPS, and instruments for engine temperature, tachometer, engine hour meter, oil pressure, and generator power. A well-equipped galley is located on the starboard side, with a stainless steel sink, hot and cold water, a new 2-burner gas stove with oven, a new 12v refrigerator, and plenty of storage space on shelves, in drawers, and cabinets. The galley is equipped with glasses, cups, plates, cutlery, pots, and pans. The central salon has a large U-shaped sofa group and a four-person bench to starboard, which easily converts into a berth. From the elevated U-shaped sofa group, there is an unobstructed view of the surroundings through 9 large thermopane windows. Below deck, you enter directly from the cockpit into the boat's Decksalon with a good view both during sailing and especially in port. The interior is executed in a simple design and material and contributes to the maritime atmosphere and the feeling of being aboard "a truly and solidly built ship." The sails are older but function well for a few more seasons of cruising. In addition, there is various navigation equipment, a Reflex heater, and various comfort equipment on board.
