Malö 40 Classic is a large 40-foot Orust boat of the highest quality. In Malö's somewhat understated manner, the boat is actually 41.5 feet long. With the positive stern, the boat has a substantial aft deck with a huge storage space. In many ways, this aft cockpit boat has the advantage of a deeper and larger cockpit compared to a mid-cockpit boat, while the Classic version's aft deck provides a boat with side decks around the entire boat, making it easy and safe to move around on deck. It also doesn't hurt that the deck as a whole has wide and flat surfaces to move around on. The surfaces are laid with the most beautiful teak, providing both non-slip protection and a beautiful appearance. The cockpit features Malö's legendary solution with a targa arch that provides a very practical, functional, and secure solution for the mainsheet, while also serving as support for both the sprayhood and cockpit cover. The result is a large cockpit that is easy to adapt to the weather without losing the feeling of space and all-around visibility. This Malö 40 Classic also has a three-cabin layout, making it extra flexible. Here, there is the slightly more unusual opportunity to sail a classic Orust boat of the highest quality while also having the living flexibility that a three-cabin layout provides. Large family with many children? Sailing couple with both children and grandchildren visiting now and then? Couple with guests? Family with guests? Family with children and their friends? There are simply very few limitations. As always with Malö, the interior carpentry and detail quality are of the highest standard. Just the feeling of touching the grab rails and woodwork makes you want to stay on board. Not a single shortcut has been taken in the craftsmanship, with stunning curves and exceptional precision in both measurements and wood grain matching. Additionally, everything is in its place, and all the equipment on board is from the best manufacturers the yard could find, creating a tangible sense of pride and security. The salon is very spacious and has a flexible dining area to port with Malö's elegant table that easily converts into a larger dining table. To starboard, there are two comfortable armchairs with a small "bar" in between. Similarly, the boat's galley is substantial and has all the storage and equipment needed for life on board. The toilet with shower is, of course, furnished in the best materials to be both stylish and durable and easy to maintain. There are anchor winches both front and back, a powerful Yanmar engine, Andersen winches, the list goes on. An all-around fantastic boat. Also, check out the review in Cruising World https://www.cruisingworld.com/sailboats/malo-40-designed-distant-horizons/ Watch the video from when she was last sold. The current owner has replaced the sprayhood, cover, toilet, and all through-hull fittings with new bronze ones. The boat is still on land. New photos will be available when she is back in the water.
