Description

It is with a heavy heart that we are selling our beautiful classic Matthiesen & Paulsen boat from 1965. 11 ships of the 5.5 KR sea cruiser class were built during that period, many of which are still sailing in northern Germany. We will be switching to a larger boat due to an increase in our family, but we are currently still using it and enjoying it to the fullest. A little about the key data of the boat and the work done in recent years: Year of construction 1965 Mahogany on oak (outer skin completely stripped and rebuilt in 21/22 (15 layers of varnish, a new varnish every year), superstructure re-veneered in 20/21 (15 layers of varnish, a new varnish every year) Teak deck on the walking deck, superstructure and cockpit (completely reconditioned in 20/21, material is still 14mm thick and has a 10mm deep joint) Mast & boom completely stripped and rebuilt with 12 layers of 2K varnish Standing rigging new 2024 Engine Yanmar 2YM15 from 2018 (299 operating hours), but we still used the boat currently SPW Varioprop 3 blade propeller Instruments Tacktick wind, depth, log, compass & GPS (including WiFi to navigate on the tablet) can) Navigation lights LED Hella Marine (2019) Autopilot removed but present Starter battery (60 Ah) & consumer battery (AGM 120 Ah) (new 2022) Battery charger Victron (2022) Charging current regulator for alternator Sterling Rolling system for the headsail will be installed for the summer tour, but can be dismantled again on Stay rider without much effort Selftailing winches for the headsail, original bronze winches still present Gas stove & gas system retrofitted Large compressor refrigerator Jabsco pump toilet (2022) with new hoses (no waste tank) Fresh water hoses & taps new (2023) Foreship cabin 2 sleeping places length 1.90, shoulder width 1.80 Benches in the saloon can be converted into sleeping places length 1.90 shoulder width 80 cm Dog kennel is available but cannot be used as a sleeping place but a very good and large storage space As not everything is always new, there are a few points that should be mentioned: Dacron sail wardrobe - mainsail, jib, 130% genoa, storm jib & blister (year of construction unknown) are still very suitable for touring sailing and have no damage The interior has signs of age in some places (a lot has already been refreshed) The boat is a very solid wooden boat with no maintenance backlog or surprises. With a little love, you can still get many decades out of the boat. It sails very comfortably and is a very forgiving boat that is just fun. I'm happy to answer any questions and if you're interested, you can view it at any time. Addendum: We're away over June, I'll try to answer as best I can, after that the boat can be viewed again (unless someone wants to do it before then)
