Dehler Optima 101 now in the online auction. Everyone can bid until May 18, 2026. Dehler Optima 101 (1985) - sporty 10-meter sailing yacht cruiser with Yanmar diesel and complete sail wardrobe The Dehler Optima 101 is a classic German sailing yacht known for its combination of sporty sailing characteristics and a practical, comfortable layout. This 1985 model, built by Dehler (hull number 295-120), is made of polyester with a round-bilge hull and measures 10.10 meters in length by 3.40 meters in width. With a draft of 1.70 meters, this yacht offers a nice balance between stability, windward performance, and access to many Dutch sailing areas. The boat has been used in recent years on inland waters and larger lakes, including the IJsselmeer and Ketelmeer, with moorings in Lemmer and Dronten. In 2024, the boat was taken out of the water for antifouling treatment. Dehler Optima 101 now in the online auction. Everyone can bid until May 18, 2026. Sailing characteristics and experience on inland waters and IJsselmeer Those looking for a Dehler Optima 101 for sale often appreciate the characteristics this type is known for: direct steering feel, lively response, and an efficient underwater hull that performs well at various wind angles. The wheel steering in the cockpit provides a familiar feeling during longer stretches, while the single rudder provides clear feedback. With an air draft of approximately 15 meters, it is a sailing yacht that feels most at home on open water, lakes, and ponds, but also on many routes with bridges where mast lowering is not necessary. The maximum speed is around 12 km/h, fitting for a 10-meter cruiser with a sporty touch. Rigging, sails, and equipment for active sailing The aluminum mast carries a sail plan with mainsail and jib, supplemented with a spinnaker for those who enjoy some extra speed on broad reaches. An important asset is the sail wardrobe: there is a complete set of new mainsail and jib, along with an additional used set. This provides flexibility for both cruising and more spirited use, or simply to have a spare on hand. The headsail furling system makes reefing and rolling the jib easy from the cockpit, making sailing with a smaller crew more enjoyable. Propulsion: Yanmar 3GM30 inboard diesel For harbor maneuvers and windless stretches, the boat is equipped with a Yanmar 3GM30 inboard diesel engine of 24 hp, electric start, and three cylinders. The engine is operational and has approximately 2800 running hours. With a 60-liter diesel tank and an estimated consumption of about 1 liter per hour, this is a practical setup for weekend trips and holidays, especially when combined with shore power connection and battery charger. Onboard are three batteries with a total capacity of 315 Ah, allowing for comfortable use of onboard consumers while sailing and at the mooring. Interior and comfort: headroom, berths, and galley Inside, the Dehler Optima 101 offers a layout suitable for a family sailing yacht: a salon with dining area, a galley with stove and oven, and amenities such as a refrigerator and hot water. The headroom of approximately 1.82 meters contributes to a spacious feeling for a 10-meter sailboat. There are four fixed berths and three additional berths possible, making the boat suitable for weekend getaways, holidays, or a longer trip with family or friends. The manual toilet discharges directly into open water, which is relevant to consider for sailing areas and use. Cockpit, deck, and exterior equipment Outside, the boat is set up for comfortable stay in the cockpit, including a sprayhood, cockpit tent, cockpit table, and exterior cushions. The guardrails and swim ladder make deck stay practical, both while sailing and for swimming or mooring. The teak deck is present, giving the boat a classic look, with the note that this teak deck requires attention. For anchoring, there is one anchor with line attachment. Additionally, fenders and lines are available, making the boat immediately usable for mooring and transient harbors. There is also a TV onboard. Navigation and electronics onboard The navigation equipment includes GPS, chartplotter, VHF radio, compass, log/speedometer, depth sounder, and fishfinder. This makes the yacht suitable for navigating on larger waters and for trips where overview and position information are desired. There is also an autopilot onboard, but it is currently not working. The same applies to the wind instrument, which is not functioning correctly. These points provide a buyer the opportunity to modernize or repair the electronics according to their preference. Points of attention and opportunities for the next owner The overall condition is described as fair, with some specific points of attention: the heater is currently not functioning, the autopilot is not working, the wind instrument is not functioning properly, and the teak deck requires maintenance. On the flip side, the boat offers an attractive foundation: a well-known Dehler design with sporty performance, a functional Yanmar diesel, a complete and partly new sail set, and a layout suitable for both day trips and holidays. For buyers seeking a Dehler Optima 101 with character, sailing pleasure, and room to make their own choices in finishing and technology, this is an interesting option within the segment of 10-meter polyester sailing yachts.
