Description

The Beneteau First 32 is a sailboat from 1984, built by the renowned French shipyard Beneteau. This model belongs to the "course-croisière" category, meaning the boat is designed for both sporty performance and comfortable onboard living. Measuring 9.60 meters in length, 3.36 meters in width, and with a draft of 1.80 meters, this boat offers a balanced combination of stability, speed, and maneuverability. The polyester hull with a V-bottom enhances seaworthiness and sailing behavior, especially upwind. Interior and Living Space Inside, the First 32 provides a headroom of 1.80 meters, creating a pleasant living space even for taller occupants. The boat features two enclosed cabins and a spacious salon, accommodating a total of six sleeping berths. Additional berths are available in the salon, allowing the boat to host up to seven people. The salon includes a pull-out bench on the port side that converts into a double bed. The chart table is spacious and offers ample storage for navigation charts and accessories. Various storage options are available under the seating and in the cabins. The galley is designed in a practical L-shape and equipped with a two-burner gas stove with oven, a stainless steel sink, and a recently installed fridge (Hyckes, 2022) operating on both 12V and 220V. The original fridge is currently used for extra storage. The starboard side wet room features a manual toilet with a new pump (2024), a sink, and various storage options. Behind the toilet, there is a separate cabinet for sailing gear. Propulsion and Technical Equipment The Beneteau First 32 is powered by a Yanmar 2YM15 inboard diesel engine from 2019 with 18 hp. The engine has approximately 450 running hours and is hand-started. Fuel consumption is around 2.2 liters per hour, with a 40-liter diesel tank. The cruising speed is about 12 km/h, with a maximum speed of around 16 km/h. The boat is equipped with a fuel tank gauge and temperature gauge. Electrically, the vessel has two batteries with a total capacity of 220 Ah, powered by a battery charger and a Victron generator. The electrical system operates on both 12V and 220V. Navigation equipment includes an autopilot (Raymarine ST2000, 2021), depth sounder, fishfinder, GPS, compass, log/speedometer, and a VHF radio. Sail Equipment The sail setup includes five sails, comprising a mainsail, genoa, and spinnaker. The mast is made of aluminum. The sails are functional and suitable for various wind conditions. The boat comes with an anchor with chain and line, renewed in 2022. There is no anchor windlass. Exterior equipment includes fenders, lines, a cockpit cover, and outdoor cushions. A sunshade sail is included, ideal for shelter during anchoring or in the harbor. Safety and Additional Equipment In terms of safety, the boat is equipped with a lifebuoy, fire extinguisher, and an electric bilge pump. The toilet discharge is directly connected to the outside water. There is no bow thruster or heating onboard. The water tank has a capacity of 90 liters and was replaced in 2023. History and Usage The current owner is the third owner of the boat and has primarily used it for leisure sailing in Zeeland and along the Belgian coast over the past four years. The boat is registered under number BE404892. Documentation such as manuals, technical specifications, and recent purchase invoices (engine, toilet, water tank, etc.) are available. The last maintenance and antifouling haul-out for the boat was in 2022. There are no signs of osmosis detected. The boat weighs approximately 3,800 kg. The Beneteau First 32 is a sailboat suitable for both sporty sailing trips and relaxing weekend stays. With a solid construction, practical layout, and recent technical updates, this boat offers a versatile sailing experience. Ready for use, it accommodates families or sailors looking for an entry-level performance-oriented cabin sailboat.
