It has hull number 195 out of a total of 202 boats and is likely one of the best-equipped. Launched from Malövarvet in Kungsviken in the spring of 2005. The boat features a valuable Efoy fuel cell battery charger Comfort 210 with a charging capacity of up to 210Ah per day (new in 2016), ensuring no worries about the battery bank during longer stays in remote harbors. Virtually silent and always sufficient battery capacity - especially for refrigeration in harbors without power, in addition to power for instruments and autopilot on longer sailing legs. The boat has been stored indoors for winter with a full-service concept at Båtvårdsvarvet in Svineviken, just north of Malövarvet, from delivery in 2005 until spring 2019. The shipyard specializes in Swedish quality boats and is known for delivering very high-quality services. The boat has appeared as new each spring when launched. In recent years, it has been winter-stored outdoors near the home port in Norway without any issues due to good covering, ventilation, sufficient dehumidification, and the same treatment (Boracol) of the teak deck every autumn to prevent black mold in the teak. The treatment has been repeated each spring, and the teak is then soap-washed twice during the season with a thick mixture of green soap. Very few believe the boat and teak deck are 20 years old without renewal - just good maintenance. It also helps that the teak is thicker than on cheaper boats. The hull and superstructure are hand-polished and waxed to a high gloss. The engine is serviced annually, starts immediately, and has always run flawlessly. Malö 36 works excellently as an archipelago cruiser but is also suitable for circumnavigation and longer voyages for those interested. We particularly value the following: - Moderate draft in natural harbors. - Rudder deeper than keel provides safe backing in shallow waters. - Deep keel sump collects condensation, water from the lead line (anchor aft), etc., in one place where it is pumped out with a fixed pump at the bottom. Previous bad experiences with a flat-bottomed boat with "water everywhere." - The underwater hull ensures a smooth ride in choppy seas. - Strong and trouble-free engine combined with a hull that moves smoothly in the sea is delightful when forced to motor in rough seas. - Sandwich hull along with extra thick fiberglass laminate provides a strong and dry hull. - Extremely safe keel construction with significantly reduced risk of hull damage in grounding. The combination of a long fin keel, hull shape that absorbs forces, low keel attachment, and lead keel beneath this is superior in terms of safety. - Hull side higher than deck, along with teak deck, provides comfortable and safe movement on deck while sailing. - Walkway on the radar arch offers a tidy solution with no dangerous lines crossing the cockpit during jibes in fresh weather. The sheet is still easily handled by the helmsman with the winch within reach. - With everything accessible from the helm (except for boom vang adjustment), extra plotter on the pedestal, roller mainsail, autopilot, and bow thruster, the boat is very easy to handle alone. - Fixed windows forward provide much better visibility - especially in rain or spray. - Selden rigging with both aft and forward lower shrouds is strong and reduces pumping. - The interior is of the highest class and still looks like new. Noted by all upon first boarding. Best quality mahogany and nothing stained. - The entire boat seems well thought out and solidly built, in addition to being extremely pleasant to live in. - With moderate width, it is not initially stiff, but with a 3.1 t lead keel, it gradually becomes more and more stiff. Knowing this, the sailing experience feels extremely safe. Number of engine hours: approx. 1550 The boat is registered in the Ship Register, enabling financing with a lien on the boat (not utilized by us).
