Vindö 32 - Classic Long Keel Yacht from 1978 The Vindö 32 is a classic sailboat with a characteristic Scandinavian design, built by the renowned shipyard Nötesunds Varv AB in Sweden. This model, designed by Carl Anderssons, is known for its robust construction, stable sailing characteristics, and timeless appearance. With a length of 8.95 meters and a beam of 2.75 meters, this vessel offers a comfortable and safe sailing experience, both on inland waters and at sea. Hull and Construction The hull of the Vindö 32 is made of polyester and has an S-shaped form, contributing to the stability and course-keeping of the ship. The long keel is equipped with a single rudder and is steered by a tiller in the open cockpit. The draft is 1.40 meters, making the ship suitable for various sailing areas. The air draft is 11.55 meters. The teak deck and wooden superstructure give the ship a classic look. There is a need for maintenance on the teak deck and wooden cabin, which is a focal point for the next owner. The cockpit cover requires a new zipper. The hull shows no signs of osmosis, which is crucial for polyester vessels of this age. Interior and Comfort Inside, the Vindö 32 offers a headroom of 1.90 meters, providing a comfortable living space. There are four fixed berths, divided between the cabin and forepeak. The interior includes a dining area, mattresses, a manual toilet, and a simple galley with a stove and refrigerator. The water tank has a capacity of 50 liters. Heating is not present on board. Engine and Technology The boat is equipped with a Sole Mini 26 inboard diesel engine from 1998. This three-cylinder engine delivers 26 hp and has an electric starting system. The engine has 763 running hours and consumes an average of 1.5 liters of diesel per hour. The fuel tank has a capacity of 40 liters. The cruising speed is around 9 km/h, with a maximum speed of approximately 12 km/h. Onboard, various measuring instruments are available, including a fuel tank gauge, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, and tachometer. The electrical system consists of two batteries with a total capacity of 140 Ah, a battery charger, alternator, voltmeter, and shore power connection. A small solar panel helps recharge the batteries during the winter months. Navigation and Electronics The onboard navigation equipment is functional and includes: Raymarine S1000+ autopilot, Furuno GPS Navigator, Seafahrer 4 depth sounder, Icom IC M59 VHF radio, compass, log/speedometer, and wind gauge. This equipment makes the ship suitable for both short trips and longer sailing voyages. Sail Equipment The Vindö 32 features an aluminum mast and a sail plan consisting of five sails: mainsail, jib, genoa, storm jib, and spinnaker. There is no roller furling jib. The condition of the sails is described as fair. An anchor with chain and line is included. Equipment and Safety On deck, the boat is equipped with a sprayhood, cockpit tent, cockpit cover, pulpit and pushpit, fenders, lines, swim ladder, and lifelines. The cockpit is self-draining. For safety, a lifebuoy and a manual bilge pump are present. A ladder for onshore use is included. Additional Information The boat is registered under ORC number NED 6264. VAT has been paid, and a VAT declaration dated 21-11-2012 is available. The current owner has owned the boat since 2010 and has mainly used it for day trips and weekend stays on inland waters and seas. The last time the boat was taken out of the water for maintenance and antifouling was in 2022. Summary The Vindö 32 is a classic sailboat with a solid build and a traditional design. Thanks to the long keel and S-shaped hull, the ship offers stable sailing characteristics, making it suitable for both novice and experienced sailors. With functional equipment and a distinctive appearance, this vessel is an interesting choice for enthusiasts of classic sailboats who value seaworthiness and traditional lines. For interested parties, it is important to consider some maintenance points on the teak deck and wooden superstructure. The engine and navigation equipment are operational, and the boat is ready for a new sailing season.
