Description

Beautiful custom-made ocean racer from 1959, designed by Arthur Robb and built in England. The boat has a rich history of crossings and victories; having won the Admirals Cup and the Nab Tower race, and cruised to the Azores. A lines plan to drool over with a cut-out bow, a negative transom, and a low cabin with small oval portholes, all perfectly balanced. On deck, plenty of walkable space and at the stern a deep secure cockpit with a steering position. The construction is made up of two layers of Makoré wood with horizontal planks of 1 3/8", overlapping seams fastened with copper nails on frames of 2 ½" x 2 ½", spaced about 3' apart, three steamed oak battens between each frame. The floor beams are of thick oak on all heavy frames, all well preserved and maintained. Below deck, a distinctly classic mahogany interior with ample headroom despite the low cabin and modern comfort. Under the hood, a modern Nanni from 2004 with 37 HP. All in all, an elegant yacht with fantastic sailing characteristics that can handle quite a bit of water. Perfect for an overseas journey. Ready to sail!
