Description

Sleek custom build (Design: Georg Nissen) designed as a fast performance cruiser and constructed in 1991 at the renowned quality shipyard Olsen Yachts Aps in Stubbekøbing, Denmark. The construction in GRP/sandwich laminate with full laminate in high-stress areas, composite frames, laminated bulkheads, and a GRP strongback allowed for a relatively light yet very stable structure. The lead bulb keel bolted under with a wide flange ensures high stability and excellent upwind performance, while the flat underwater hull towards the stern provides optimal reaching characteristics. The bright, functional interior showcases the shipyard's great craftsmanship in woodworking. For an 11m yacht, the boat offers unusually ample storage space in cabinets, lockers, drawers, and compartments. Miss-X was exclusively sailed by the owner with family and friends in the Baltic Sea, participating successfully in regattas alongside cruises until 2012. Initially stored and maintained during winters at the Danish shipyard, the yacht has been kept in a heated hall at Yachtzentrum Kappeln since 2005. From 2012 to 2019, the owner invested over €250,000 in an extensive refit. This included a new teak deck, epoxy and Coppercoat coating of the hull, a repaint of the hull and superstructure by Wrede, and a carbon fiber rig. During this period, the entire floor structure and keel suspension were also renewed in 2015. In 2016/17, a backstay hydraulic system and electric winches were added, allowing for remote control of sheets and halyards. Routine maintenance and upgrades were carried out by specialized local businesses, ensuring no maintenance backlog exists.
