The Tioga of Hamburg is a modern reinterpretation of a classic boat, the Tioga, originally designed by Francis L. Herreshoff in 1931. The Tioga name is inspired by the spirit of tradition, and the boat is a larger, more modern version of the 1934 Tioga of Marblehead, which was known as the Ticonderoga. Ticonderoga dominated ocean races between 1936 and 1967, setting numerous records. The Tioga of Hamburg was built in 2012 and delivery in 2013 by Josef Martin in Radolfzell, on Lake Constance, Germany. This boat is designed for long distances and deep-sea travel, while still being able to sail in shallow water thanks to its variable draft.
