Description

The vessel has always had the same owner, but due to the owner's age, it is now time to find a new owner for the ship. The Jagten MULLER was built in 1976 at the Jacobsens Plads shipyard in the small town of Troense, located south of Svendborg, Denmark. For around 200 years, sailing schooners were built at Jacobsens Plads. From 1974 to 1984, wooden ships were again built at the yard - a total of 11 vessels, all yachts between 28 and 36 feet long and one schooner of 46 feet. All 11 vessels were built for German and Danish owners. MULLER was built as number 3 in 1976 and launched in early 1977. MULLER was built indoors and according to traditional wooden shipbuilding methods. The keel, stern, bow, frames and beams are made of oak, the hull of Douglas fir and the deck of teak. The teak for the deck is recycled material from an old icebreaker and is of better quality than new teak. The mast and spars are made of thuja wood, particularly suitable for this use. MULLER is equipped with an aft cabin, an engine room under the cockpit, a saloon amidships, a pantry and a forward cabin for a total of six berths. After launching, the ship was sailed to its home port, Graasten. The mast and spars were on deck. It was not part of the shipyard's contract to carry out the rigging, only to supply the mast and spars. MULLER was to be rigged with a traditional gaff rig for a Danish yacht - a one-piece mast and four sails: mainsail, topsail, staysail and jib. To achieve this, Christian Nielsen from the Danish Maritime Museum, Kronborg Castle, was consulted for advice and guidance when the rig was made. The ship showed good qualities. In addition to being a good family ship, MULLER is also fun to sail in regattas and races, as it achieves good speed and sails close to the wind. The owner has sailed the yacht in all Danish waters, to Norway and Sweden, as well as in North German waters from Rügen to Hamburg and spent many pleasant vacations on board the ship. MULLER participated in the first RumRegatta 1980 in Flensburg. and crossed the finish line as the first vessel The plaque is still in the ship and the rum barrel is with the owner. In total, many miles have been sailed in the good ship MULLER in all kinds of weather and MULLER and its crew have always performed well.
