Description

SALONA 37 IBC - SWE 11611 - Pisco Sour The IBC version is built using vacuum infusion lamination technology, with bulkheads made of basalt. The rig, wheel, rudder, spinnaker pole, and several components are made of carbon fiber. The keel is lead, designed by Jason Kerr. The boat is a 2009 model but was updated and adapted for ORC International Racing in 2011. It is equipped with B&G H5000 Hercules, NAC2 Autopilot, WR10 Wireless Remote, 3D Motion Sensor, Precision-9, VMHU, V60 (VHF+AIS), Zeus2, H5000 Race Display, H5000 GDU, 20/20HV Displays, Triton Displays, solar panel, and more. The sail wardrobe includes high-quality racing sails from One Sails, North Sails, and UK Halsey, along with training and cruising sails. Around ten sails have been measured according to ORCi regulations. Unlike a standard Salona 37, she is optimized for Jib 1 with an in-hauler, featuring a sailing area of 32.96 m² (J1), 42.46 m² (M), and 102.46 m² (S2). Request a complete equipment list for details. Safety Equipment & Offshore Racing Standards The boat is equipped with safety gear for offshore racing according to World Sailing OSR Category 3. The forestay is a Harken Racing Foil, and racing sails are hoisted in a luff groove. The boat lacks cruising features like a sprayhood, lazy-jacks, and roller furling, but it does have Harken Mast Cars, intended for a cruising mainsail. Interior Layout The boat features a traditional layout with two aft cabins, a forward cabin, and a toilet/shower at the bow. The galley is equipped with a fridge, stove/oven, double sink with pressurized hot and cold water on the port side, while the navigation table is positioned on the starboard side. The saloon includes additional sea berths, allowing for up to 10 sleeping spots. Racing Achievements This boat has competed successfully in the ORC Worlds, ORC European Championship, and ORC Double Handed Worlds. She previously carried the name LENCO. During the ORC DH Worlds 2022, she received some international recognition: https://www.sail-world.com/news/251120/ORC-Double-Handed-World-Championship-day-2 Performance Optimization Although originally designed as a cruiser, she is optimized to ORCi specifications. She is approximately 500 kg lighter than a standard Salona 37 RACE, and the mast is optimized with boomerang spreaders, weighing only 96 kg. ⚠️ Important Notice This is not a boat for someone looking for a family cruiser—she is optimized for racing. I can sail her solo, but taking down the racing mainsail without a lazy bag requires careful planning. At the same time, she is a true thoroughbred, delivering exceptional sailing enjoyment. The keel design, deep carbon fiber rudder, and carbon fiber wheel allow her to sail higher than most on a close-hauled course, offering exquisite fingertip control.
