Description

The Van de Wiele ketch is a sister ship of the famous Belgian yacht "Williwaw," currently on display at the Antwerp Maritime Museum. With this sister ship, Willy de Roos sailed an impressive 360,000 miles across the oceans. This is proof enough that the design is exceptionally seaworthy. You can judge for yourself whether this is a yacht or a ship. During construction, "Blue pearl" was scooped, meaning it was galvanized, ensuring rust has no chance. The construction is extra heavy-duty to withstand freezing conditions. Both the current and previous owners have conducted thorough maintenance and replaced many items (see specifications). The interior is divided into two parts and has been modified by the current owner. The salon exudes a true nautical atmosphere with dark teak and a renewed floor. Upon entry, the L-shaped kitchen is on the left, and the navigation corner is on the right. Amidships, there is a spacious seating area with benches all around. There is a diesel heater with radiators, powerful enough to heat the entire boat. The forward cabin with a double bed accommodates 2 people. To port forward is the bathroom with a sink and an electric toilet on 12V. The aft cabin, accessible through a new passage made by the current owner, is suitable for guests/children who have a private space there. This Van de Wiele Ketch is in excellent maintenance condition and ready to sail. For those seeking a seaworthy yacht suitable for extended stays on board, this is an intriguing choice.
