If you are looking for a beginner boat at a reasonable price, where everything works, then M/S Færgen is the perfect choice. The ferry has provided our family with many great hours at sea, and it is best for sailing out, dropping anchor, enjoying a good lunch, and then a swim. There is a bathing ladder so everyone can easily get back on board. There is plenty of storage space for towels and various equipment. Its size allows it to navigate Copenhagen's canals if you want to experience the city from the water. It is easy to steer, so you can dock anywhere. The canopy can be completely removed for sunbathing. It is recommended to lie with the hatch open and fall asleep under the stars. No certificate or proof is required to sail it. Over the past 4 years, several improvements have been made to the ferry, all documented in a complete logbook with corresponding receipts, etc. In 2024, it received a new exchange engine that has only run for 25 hours and has been converted to freshwater cooling. In addition, some of the improvements made include: - All electrical components have been replaced and checked with corresponding electrical diagrams (easy and clear even for those unfamiliar with electrical work). - The hull has been scraped down to the bottom and given 4 layers of primer and 2 layers of antifouling paint. - A new starter and consumption battery. - All window profiles have been replaced and secured with SikaFlex – the boat is watertight. - The canopy has been repaired, new windows have been installed, and it has been waterproofed. - Blackjack replaced. - New dashboard including instruments. - Painted throughout the interior. - 80% of all woodwork has been sanded and varnished with Epifanes varnish. - The engine has been maintained and checked annually with oil changes, new sacrificial anodes, etc. - A complete manual for all boat equipment and a maintenance and overhaul manual for the engine are included. - Louvers and extra cushions specially made to provide sleeping space for two adults and a child in the bow. We are currently building a new pantry, which will be installed soon, allowing for making pancakes on board, among other things. The ferry has been cared for with great love and diligence, as we would have wanted if we were to inherit it. Easy to take over, as everything you need to know is in the logbook and accompanying manuals. For example, you can see what has been done each year during winterization, making it easy to continue maintaining the ferry without prior knowledge of boat maintenance. The canopy is more charming than pretty, but it is watertight, and there is an offer from the Canopy Smith for a new one. The ferry is small enough to be trailered, but currently, it is on land in the harbor and will be launched on April 8, 2026. For further documentation and questions, send a message. It is only being sold because we want to try our hand at a larger boat, and until then, the ferry will continue its adventures.
