Description

Hunter developed the now incredibly popular Hunter 38 to be a stable, safe, and spacious family sailboat with a simple rig setup that can be operated by even less experienced sailors without much difficulty. The reason is the special three-point Bergstrom & Ridder rig, where the boat is mostly sailed on the mainsail and a somewhat smaller jib. The strongly aft-leaning spreaders mean the rig stands without a so-called backstay. The boat has ample space for 6 people on longer vacations or even extended journeys. Both the cockpit, deck layout, and the boat's interior design are intended for easy operation and plenty of space for the crew as well as for storing equipment, luggage, and provisions. The cockpit feels enormous, and with the distinctive arch, the mainsheet and lines are not in the way. The electric winch is located to the right of the companionway, making hoisting the mainsail a breeze. Additionally, this boat has a folding table, making it very easy to move around the cockpit when the boat is in port or anchored, whether you moor stern-to or plan to swim at the anchorage. Furthermore, there are two lovely GTI seats in the aft pushpit for a sundowner or to enjoy the sail when the sails and autopilot are set. Below deck, you truly feel the space and optimal layout. There is a large galley with a double sink to starboard at the companionway, plenty of countertop space, a large refrigerator, a stove with an oven, and ample storage in cabinets and drawers. To port, you will find the boat's toilet centrally located, along with a shower. Aft of this are two large cabins with storage for 2 and a mighty double berth. The master cabin is wide with a chart table to port, followed by a full-length sofa. To starboard, a large U-shaped sofa arrangement. Also here, with plenty of storage space under cushions and in cabinets. In the forepeak, this version features an owner's cabin with a large V-berth measuring 2m in length, along with cabinets and storage space on each side. This boat has a shallow wing keel of only 1.53m. The boat can therefore access almost anywhere, and if you wish to start your journey by sailing through the canals to the Mediterranean, it's not a problem. The engine is the powerful 39 HP Yanmar, providing peace of mind on the way. The current owners bought the boat from the first owner in 2016 and have taken good care of the boat since then. They have, among other things, replaced the refrigerator, installed a new toilet, a new folding propeller, a new manifold on the engine, new batteries, and much more. The owner is now going ashore and must part with the boat. Contact Yacht Broker Michael at [email protected] or via phone +45 2148 8880 for more information.
