Authentic Beulakermeer Sail Punt from 1994 - Wooden Flat-bottomed Boat with Honda Outboard Motor Traditional craftsmanship from Shipyard Schreur This Beulakermeer sail punt, built in 1994 by the renowned Shipyard Schreur in Giethoorn, is a representative example of traditional Dutch shipbuilding craftsmanship. The shipyard, known for its artisanal wooden punts, crafted this sail punt based on specific wishes of the first owner. Since its construction, the boat has been stored annually in the winter at the shipyard's warehouse, where it has also undergone regular maintenance. Beulakermeer sail punt now in online auction. Everyone can bid until February 16, 2026. Construction and materials The hull of this sail punt is made of wood and has a flat bottom, characteristic of punts designed for use on shallow inland waters. In the winter of 2023/2024, the boat was varnished, and in the spring of 2025, both the bottom and floorboards were renewed. The hull is coated with polyester up to the gunwale, contributing to protecting the wood from external influences. Additionally, an antifouling treatment was carried out in 2025. With a length of 7 meters, a width of 2 meters, and a draft of only 10 centimeters, this punt is particularly suitable for use on canals, ditches, and other shallow inland waters. The clearance height of 95 centimeters with the mast lowered allows for passing under low bridges, significantly expanding navigational possibilities. Sailing equipment and motorization The Beulakermeer sail punt is equipped with a fully removable rig, allowing the boat to be used both under sail and with the motor. This versatility makes the vessel suitable for various weather conditions and navigational areas. Steering is done via a tiller on the outside, with a single rudder. For propulsion, there is a 10 hp Honda 4-stroke outboard motor with manual start. This 2011 motor has two cylinders and runs on gasoline. The cruising speed is around 10 kilometers per hour, with a maximum speed of approximately 15 kilometers per hour. The motor enables comfortable sailing even without rigging. Equipment and accessories The sail punt comes with various equipment pieces that enhance onboard convenience and safety. It includes a two-piece heavy-duty deck cover, supplied in 2013 by Boer sailmaker from Giethoorn. This cover, equipped with zippers, provides protection against weather conditions when the boat is not in use. Additionally, there are two anchors with lines, fenders, mooring lines, and a flag on board. The total weight of the boat is approximately 700 kilograms. Use and sailing experience The sail punt has mainly been used for recreational sailing and day trips on inland waters. The high gunwale provides extra safety, making the boat suitable for families with young children. The combination of a spacious cockpit, shallow draft, and easy operation makes the boat accessible to both novice and experienced water sports enthusiasts. Berth and registration The current berth of the punt is in Wanneperveen. The boat is not registered. It is ready to sail and can be immediately used for recreational purposes on inland waters. History and special features This Beulakermeer sail punt has a long history of ownership by one owner, who has had the boat since 1994. The construction was based on personal preferences, giving the boat a unique character. The combination of traditional craftsmanship, a wooden hull with polyester protection, and practical equipment make this boat a representative example of the Dutch punt tradition. For enthusiasts of classic wooden boats with a functional layout and an authentic appearance, this sail punt offers an interesting opportunity. The maintenance history and recent renovations to the hull and underwater parts contribute to the utility value of this vessel.
