The Westerly Oceanlord 41 embodies the Westerly Yachts' distinctive blend of durability, functionality, and timeless design, tailored for comfort, safety, and long-distance voyages. "Smile" is a center-cockpit cruiser celebrated for its sturdy British craftsmanship, built to Lloyd’s Hull Construction standards, and genuine offshore capabilities. Crafted by Ed Dubois, this yacht seamlessly combines exceptional sailing performance with a forgiving demeanor, making it a preferred choice for experienced blue-water sailors. It boasts a track record of easy handling for two-person crews, whether crossing the Atlantic, circumnavigating, or coastal cruising. With a semi-balanced spade rudder and 3.5-ton fin keel, it can tack through 60 degrees, offering excellent visibility forward from the low-aspect coachroof. Maneuvering in busy marinas is smooth and precise, aided by the 3-bladed propeller powered by the new Volvo Penta D2 40 engine with only 10 hours of use. This vessel includes spare sails, lines, and engine parts. For a comprehensive overview, refer to the detailed specifications, photos, and video walkthrough from April 2026 in this listing. However, experiencing the Oceanlord firsthand is recommended to appreciate its qualities that make it a reliable choice for long journeys and comfortable coastal cruising. The deep and spacious center cockpit, featuring a sturdy windscreen, offers a secure and sheltered area for the crew, providing a clear view of the surroundings. The cockpit's two-meter benches can double as sleeping or lounging spots, complemented by a folding table and a large locker for storing sails, lines, and more. The locker also grants access to the engine, calorifier engine-fed hot water system, 240v immersion heater, and diesel space heater for cozy nights aboard. All halyards and running rigging are led aft to the cockpit for easy access, with controls conveniently positioned for the helmsman and crew. The Autohelm ST7000 manages the wheel steering system effortlessly. A removable bimini offers shade from the sun, while a spacious flat deck aft accommodates a dinghy or liferaft, with a stainless steel solar arch housing solar panels and a wind generator for ample power supply. The arch also features an outdoor shower and davits for dinghy lifting. Moving forward, the uncluttered decks ensure safe passage, with inmast roller mainsail for easy reefing and a versatile rig layout with a detachable inner forestay and running backstays. Below deck, the Oceanlord 41 provides a spacious interior designed for comfort during extended stays. With three cabins accommodating up to six people, plus additional berths in the saloon, and two heads, the boat offers ample storage, 450-liter water capacity, and generous headroom. The saloon is bright and airy, featuring large windows, a U-shaped settee, individual armchairs, and a teak table for dining. The galley, opposite the navigation station, is well-equipped with a double sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, and ample storage. The navigation station includes a chart table, instrument panel, and storage. The boat also features a Victron MultiPlus Compact inverter for off-grid power supply.
