The Laurent Giles Vertue — formerly known as Veritas — is a stunning classic sailing yacht that embodies the aesthetics and sailing characteristics for which Laurent Giles designs are renowned worldwide. This vessel combines timeless lines, traditional craftsmanship, and a warm nautical atmosphere with solid maintenance and recent upgrades. The fully teak hull, built on strong merbau frames and equipped with a solid iron keel, not only gives the yacht an authentic appearance but also a remarkably comfortable and reliable character on the water. The yacht exudes classic elegance: warm woodwork, a deep shine, and the charm of a true traditional sailing yacht. The teak deck was professionally re-caulked in 2020 by Loedeman in Elburg, ensuring that it remains in excellent condition for years to come. In 2024, the hull and the forward part of the superstructure were professionally repainted by Kroes in Kampen, giving the vessel a fresh and well-maintained look. Additionally, in 2026, a new mainsail cover, a new boom tent, and a new VHF antenna were installed. The wooden mast and boom have been replaced with an aluminum mast and boom. The rigging has been recalculated by Laurent Giles, making it much easier to sail than the original rig with backstays and a parrot tail. For long journeys, a Plastimo Navik wind vane has been installed. This Vertue is a ship for lovers of classic sailing. It is an extremely reliable vessel for offshore adventures. The current owner has sailed multiple times in Denmark as well as in England and France. A characterful presence in any harbor, with the seaworthiness and quality for which these designs are known. In 2013, a 21 hp three-cylinder Nanni diesel engine was installed. With this engine, you will never lack power.
