The French boatyard Amel has been building sailing yachts of various sizes since 1967. The yachts are known worldwide for being specially designed, built and equipped for long-distance cruising. The Amel 54 was built from 2005 to 2011 and there were 173 yachts in total. Amel 54, ULTIMO has hull number 165, is a 2010 model and was launched in 2011. That is, ULTIMO is one of the last yachts of this model and these latest yachts are also called Gold Line, which means that they are extra luxurious in terms of interior and equipment. The most distinctive feature of the Amel 54 is the construction of the hull. It is built in single laminate with a, by the boatyard, specially developed fiberglass mat. (read more about this in the technical specification). The hull and deck are laminated together, thus forming one unit and all bulkheads on board are laminated to the hull and deck. This provides an exceptionally strong and tight hull. Several watertight bulkheads and an engine room, which is also watertight and insulated from other spaces, also provide low noise levels on board. This is common on commercial vessels and increases the chance of surviving a collision. The yachts are built with a center cockpit, which is relatively deep and protected, and with a hardtop, where the crew should be able to handle everything while sailing without having to go up on deck. The ketch rig provides several possibilities for different sail combinations, which makes handling easier for a small crew. The yachts are built and equipped fully ready for long-distance cruising, which provides a high degree of reliability and quality control. In summary, this underlines the boatyard's philosophy with a focus on structural strength and safety to keep the crew safe, secure and comfortable in all weathers. For those planning long ocean sailings with comfortable accommodation on board, the Amel 54, ULTIMO is almost incomparable to any other yacht. The current owner bought ULTIMO in 2015 and is the second owner of the yacht. My opinion is that ULTIMO is in very good condition thanks to regular service and upgrading by the owners. The good condition does not at all reflect the yacht's real age. The owners had planned further long-distance cruising and equipped the yacht for that but now have new plans to be realized. The yacht is therefore completely ready for a buyer who wants to quickly go on a long-distance trip. ULTIMO can be viewed by appointment on the Swedish west coast at Orust. Key facts: • Amel's single-laminate hull construction and custom-designed fiberglass mat provide an exceptionally strong and rigid hull. • 4 x waterproof bulkheads • VW Marine turbo diesel engine, 140 hp • Bow thruster which can be lowered and raised • Ketch-rigged • Lacquered mahogany interior • While sailing everything can be operated from the cockpit, increased safety for the crew • 2 x autopilots • Solar cells • Wind generator • Diesel generator • Extra battery charger to be able to charge two batteries simultaneously + AC input for 185-264V / 50-60Hz, for global use • Battery management system for special monitoring of Lithium batteries • Watermaker • Pressurized water from shore can be connected for direct outlet on board • Washing machine and dryer • Webasto heater • Air conditioning system • Four-burner gas stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher • Hydraulic extendable gangway from the transom • Dinghy, Caribe + 15 hp Yamaha
