Description

This magnificent Grand Banks 42 EU combines high quality, safety, and performance with very comfortable accommodation for a smaller crew. The boat is like a miniature ship, offering a delightful mix of relaxed cruising and the ability for swift passages when needed - perfect for long journeys or relaxing days at sea. Grand Banks' philosophy is robust and high-class construction, along with reliable, well-known technology that is easy to service. All equipment is heavily dimensioned, from the buttons to the engines. The design of the Grand Banks 42 EU closely resembles the American lobster trawlers, which are renowned for being very seaworthy vessels. Unlike Grand Banks' Classic versions, this EU version features a spacious salon, a master cabin in the bow, and a large, covered aft deck for all-weather enjoyment. The spacious and bright salon offers lovely views in all directions. There is a substantial sofa with a large table and comfortable chairs for pleasant gatherings. Further forward in the salon to port is the well-equipped galley, positioned to make cooking an enjoyable experience. On the other side is the helm station with all necessary electronics and technology conveniently accessible to the skipper or navigator. Through the starboard door, the skipper can easily access the deck for maneuvers in the harbor, for example. In the bow is the luxurious master cabin with a large, wide berth, plenty of drawers and cabinets, and access to a private toilet with a separate shower area to starboard. A smaller cabin is located to port below the stairs, featuring a narrower double berth and an upper berth that can be stowed away to save space when not in use. The boat's second toilet is to starboard and also has access to the shower area. The interior is largely in matte lacquered, solid teak, providing a classic feel without feeling outdated. The well-protected and spacious aft deck offers a wonderful spot for relaxation and social moments. The sliding doors to the salon can be opened to merge the salon and aft deck into one. Below the aft deck are huge storage spaces and various technical equipment. The deck surfaces are well-planned with wide side decks and high rails for maximum safety even in rough conditions. The spacious flybridge is a fantastic spot for the crew to enjoy when the weather permits and also provides the skipper with better visibility during harbor maneuvers. A broad and secure staircase leads up to the flybridge. There is also storage for the dinghy, which can be easily launched using the boom on the mast. Below the salon, you will find a well-insulated engine room. There are the powerful and long-lasting Caterpillar engines and other technical equipment, all easily accessible for servicing. Grand Banks is known for using simple and proven mechanics for the engines, gearboxes, etc., to facilitate repairs and maintenance and provide the highest possible reliability. At cruising speed, the consumption is only about 2 liters per nautical mile, providing a range of over 1000 nautical miles without refueling. The Grand Banks 42 is surprisingly easy to maneuver in harbors thanks to the long keel, twin engines, and powerful bow thruster. The boat is in very good condition, well-maintained, and has been continuously updated over the years. It has no groundings or other significant damages.
