Description
Beautiful, stylish luxury Whaler Lounge sloop of 8.50 m. Built in 1972 at the Spitfire shipyard in Southhampton, England as a whaler for the frigate HMS Kent of the British Navy. The hull is based on the whaling boats from the 18th and 19th centuries, later known as Montagu whalers, named after Admiral Montagu (1910). The boat has always been stored indoors, in a shed during winters and in a boathouse during summers. Top quality finish and maintenance; solid teak (1 cm) and mahogany interior, with much of the original bronze fittings. Modern in terms of technology and equipment. Powered by a heavy 3-cylinder Vetus engine under the hood and a strong bow thruster at the front. In short, a unique boat suitable for both inland and open waters. Unsinkable due to 3 separate airtight compartments and very stable as it is built from 1.7 cm thick polyester! Steady course and easy to navigate. Once used to bring sailors ashore. Seeing is believing!
