Flica 35 – Spacious cruising catamaran with extensive long-distance equipment For sale is a Flica 35 cruising catamaran, built in 1988, designed by the renowned British multihull designer Richard Woods. The solidly constructed Flica combines an exceptionally generous living space with a shallow draft, plenty of privacy, and the comfortable sailing characteristics of a classic cruising catamaran. The Flica 35 is one of the early production models in this series developed by Richard Woods. It features a protected, lower cockpit, wide deck areas, and a remarkably spacious interior layout for a catamaran of this size. According to the original brochure, the concept was specifically designed as a comfortable coastal and offshore cruiser with four separate double berths, two additional single berths, a large salon, pantry, and separate sanitary area. The first boats of this series were built as Flica 35; later, the extended Flica 37 evolved from this design. With an overall length of approximately 10.75 meters and a width of about 5.90 meters, this catamaran offers significantly more living and movement space than one would expect from a 35-foot vessel. The shallow draft of around 0.90 meters opens up attractive cruising areas and anchorages that remain inaccessible to many keel yachts. The bright salon serves as the central living area on board. Large windows provide excellent panoramic views while the two hulls offer separate retreat and sleeping areas. The pantry is equipped with a gas stove, gas oven, sink, and a refrigerator renewed in 2022. A boiler also renewed in 2022 supplies the ship with hot water and can be heated both electrically and via the engine cooling water. The power supply has been extensively modernized over several years. Three AGM service batteries with a total capacity of around 300 Ah and two separate AGM starter batteries were renewed in 2023. Two solar panels of approximately 100 watts each, a Silentwind wind generator with 450 watts, as well as modern charging and monitoring technology enable largely independent power supply on longer journeys. A disconnect switch connects service and starter banks so that additional starting reserve is available if needed. The navigation and communication electronics have also been extensively renewed. The system includes among others a B&G Zeus 9-inch chartplotter, two B&G Triton displays, new wind, depth, and speed sensors, a Simrad autopilot computer, and a wireless B&G remote control. The B&G marine radio features passive AIS reception with an additional wireless handheld device. The mainsail renewed in 2020 is made from high-quality Dimension-Polyant-Dacron and is equipped with two reefs, four battens, and roller sliders; according to the owner’s statements it has seen little use. The sail wardrobe is complemented by an additional mainsail, two older genoas, roller furler system, gennaker, spinnaker pole, and storm jib. A parasailor measuring approximately 100 m² can also be included depending on the purchase agreement. The electric anchor winch was renewed in 2018. Additional comforts include a Webasto heating system, TV and radio in the salon, Bluetooth and AUX connectivity, audio technology controllable via the plotter as well as B&G speakers in the cockpit. An outboard motor with bracket for a dinghy, swim ladder, liferaft, and various fenders complete the equipment.
