For Sale – Supernova, a 1973 Skorpion 1A Supernova is a classic 1973 Feltz Skorpion 1A. Designed by Karl Feltz, the Skorpion has earned a reputation as a robust and seaworthy cruising yacht, built for serious offshore and long-distance sailing. With her long keel and solid steel construction, she offers comfortable, predictable handling and inspires confidence in a wide range of weather conditions. Carrying sail number 2, Supernova is one of the earliest Skorpion 1A yachts built. She has already proven her bluewater capabilities by completing a circumnavigation with a previous owner. In recent years she has been used for extended cruising and family holidays, while continuing to receive regular maintenance and technical upgrades. As the Skorpion was also offered as a hull for owner completion, it cannot be confirmed whether Supernova was completed by the yard or by her first owner. If she was owner-finished, the workmanship is of an exceptionally high standard, with excellent attention to detail throughout the boat. Another major advantage is the professionally installed Yanmar 3YM20 engine, fitted in 2009. Upgrades and Improvements 2009 Deck and underwater hull grit-blasted and coated with Hansapox epoxy system New Yanmar 3YM20 diesel engine professionally installed New batteries Inverter Refrigeration unit VHF radio LED navigation lights 2010 Extensive rigging work Wind generator installed New mast step New stuffing box Additional fuel filter New 20 m² Dacron cross-cut headsail Sprayhood The yacht is equipped with NASA Marine navigation instruments. Supernova is a proven bluewater cruiser with an impressive history. She combines classic lines, solid construction and practical upgrades, making her equally suitable for offshore passages, extended cruising or relaxed coastal holidays.
